Sounds like a Fuel pump overheating or an injector problem. Test the fuel pump. Due to the symptoms you are describing you should be able to re-create the problem from an idle with a fuel pressure gauge attached to monitor fuel pressure. If the pressure drops off then the fuel pump is going bad or the Filter is clogging. If fuel pressure remains steady and it dies then you have an injector or injector control faulting out. I would look at the fuel filter if you have never changed it then the fuel pump. It is also slightly possible, only because of where the vehicle is coming from that brings it to mind, that the baffle in the fuel tank itself has come free. Inside the fuel tank there is a baffle that surrounds the fuel pump assembly, if you have had water in your tank from bad fuel or condensation that will sometimes rust and come free. If it comes free it makes contact with the fuel pump and causes it to shut down. I had this problem in a 2000 Shadow once. Was a real pain to isolate down and repair. If this is the case do yourself a favor and just replace the tank.

I got a 1993 prelude 2.3L car dies or stalls while driving and starts back act like it not getting fuel. any suggestions.

Check your fuel pump fuse or relay. It could be a clogged fuel filter or you fuel pump may be going bad.

Wont start

The fuel pump jump started? The fuel pump relay is in the dashboard relay center. The fuel pump is inside the fuel tank. The pumps do fail entirely nd the fuel pump should make some sound if it's running. The fuel filter is on the firewall on the drivers side. It has a bleeder screw in the top of the bnjo bolt that holds the fuel line onto the filter. Loosening this bolt should release fuel pressure. With the bolt loose try to get the pump running ( knock on the relay, fuel tank, while cranking the engine) if fuel flows the engine should run if you don't have other problems. Low battery will crank the engine but not turn on the fuel pump and or the injection system and even the ingtion system. It may still crank and sound OK. Voltmeter the battery with the engine cranking, Less that 10 volts it's unlikly to start. John

Honda prelude doesnt start

Most likely an air fault, check the airflow meter and air flow sensor, if it is not getting air then it will not start, keep pumping the gas if you can smell it after a while then its getting plenty of fuel.

I have a 1998 honda prelude h22 vetc automatic with 178K the motor runs fine but the transmisson when i put it in reverse i knocks the it will do fine threw first kinda slip in second and then not go into...

Definitely change the transmission oil - could be some rubbish in there stopping the actuators working correctly. If that doesn't work, could be time for rebuild with new friction material in the clutches.

i recently worked on a 90 civic and i was able to adjust the idle by loosening the throttle cable near the throttlebody (there are a couple of nuts) and adjust it by moving the nuts along the cable adjuster by spinning them until the car idled well again and the owner has had no problems since
(it was not stalling but was very close to it especially at stop lights)
hope this works for you!
