96 acura tl 2.5l. havc diagnosis only indicates a fault in the blower motor circuit. The 30 amp fuse under the hood is fine. The relay in the under dash bank is good. High speed relay is good and...

power flows from fuse to blower motor relay. From there it flows to blower motor. Blower motor receives ground from two different places depending on which speed you choose. If you choose high speed, it gets ground through the blower motor high relay. If you choose any other speed, it gets ground through the power transistor below the right side of the dash. The power transistor regulates fan speed by pulsing ground on and off based on the speed you've set. Power transistor is most common failure point in these systems

It sounds like whatever your dad did needs to be un-done. If you are getting hot air then you don't need to replace the blower or any part of it, it sounds like something is just wired up wrong. I would ask you dad what he did and if he can change it back.

it is probably the blower motor resistor, had the same problem on 2003 CL Type s, the fans for the A/C and heat just stopped working was the symptom . The part is only about 70 dollars.

First check the fuse for the blower motor. If the fuse is good then you need to look at the blower motor itself. You will have to apply 12 volts to the motor to see if it is good. If it is good then more than likely the blower motor resistor pack is bad. Be sure and check all connections at the speed control and at the motor.
