Hi

Check the brake-pedal switch. This small button behind the brake pedal is activated when you press down on the brake pedal and makes the brake light go on. Press the switch by hand to see if it's stuck. If it is, pressing it may force the stuck part.

Find the fuse for the brake light and pull it out. Remember to put it back in before driving again

Find the brake light bulbs and remove them. Remember to put them back in before driving again.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. You will have to reconnect it again to start and drive your car.

For the dome lights this can be a symptom that can be caused by a bad door switch. A bad switch could be sending a door open condition to the computer .Also check the dome light switch first. Make sure the right setting is being used. Normally it has 3 settings (1 - on always, 2 - on when door is open, 3 - off always). If the setting is on 2 and the problem still exists then check and/or replace the door jamb switches. These exist in each door jam and switch the light on and off based on a whether the door is open or closed.

We have an Audi TT and the brake lights stay on after you turn the car off. Also noted that a passing car informed us that the brake lights stay on while driving as well. Could this possible be a switch...

If all the brake lights stay on then the brake light switch is the first thing to check. It cod also be dagger wiring to the switch or it may just be loose and/or out of place.

Brake lights hava a mind of there own they come on when your driving . they sometimes dont work when you apply brakes and they stay on at times driveing down the road

First thing you need to do is check the stop light switch. This switch is connected to the backside of your brake pedal. Most likely you need to replace the switch. hope this helps.

The brake lights stay on even when the car is turned off

Adjust the brake light sensor closer to the brake petal under the dash board. Either the switch has been moved back or the petal is not returning completely to the top. I am willing to bet it is the latter. If the switch is being depressed fully, and the problem still exists, then the switch is not functioning properly and needs to be replaced.

The high mount stop lamp not working while two brake lights stay on while driving.

There will be a switch on the the brake pedal. Gently move it back and forth. If the lights stay on this will have to be replaced. Then replace the third brake light bulb.

Brake lights stay on all of the time, ABS light on when driving

You most likely need to replace your brake switch, which is a
a $8 part. If you look up along the brake peddle you will see it depressing a switch. on the end of that switch is a electrical connector that you can press on one side to remove.
Once removed your brake lights will be disconected and your ABS
light should go off. You then need to replace the switch that it pluged in to.
