My Mazda is a 1995 626 Lx 2.0 engine. The engine idles rough when in park and at a stop sign. Give it gas and it accelerates chuging and coughing (lags and hesatates) Then during acceleration it stops chuging and coughing and runs smoothly for awhile and then runs rough again. I ran the codes and the key on engine off codes all indicate the that engine is running just fine (all read 111)! All codes including the stored codes that would indicate an intermittant problem read 111. I ran the key on engine running codes and I get the codes for hego (oxygen sensor) reading lean signal (172). And also I get cannot control RPM low RPM check (411). So far I have: Replaced the spark plugs and the plug wiring. Replaced distributor cap and rotor. Replaced fuel filter. Replaced fuel pressure regulator. Cleaned MAF device. Cleaned throttle body and replaced the throttle body gasket. checked the throttle position sensor and it's OK. Cleaned the EGR valve and checked to see that the EGR sensor is working properly. Replaced the Idle air control valve (IAC). Checked for vacuum leaks and there is none present. I made sure all hoses are connected. I also tried to tweek the little air screw on the throttle body and the butter fly valve stop on the throttle body next to the throttle position sensor. Could tweeking the throttle body air screw and butterfly stop cause the problem? Is the TPS (throttle body sensor) now out of position because of what I did? If tweeking is the problem, how do I get the right setting back for the throttle body? Or what can I check to see what is wrong and get the car running right? Replacing stuff hit or miss can be really expensive. Can any one help with advice?

SOURCE: 1990 Buick Regal 3.1 has rough idle, hesitates and dies when accelerating.

A lot of new parts! Have a compression test done to gauge the engine's internal condition, and go from there. If compression is good on all 6 cylinders, scan for trouble codes. The compression test may find your problem, something like an exhaust valve burned or not seating properly.

Idle high in park

May either be a sticky throttle linkage requiring lubrication, or the TPS (throttle position sensor).

Idles roughly, then low when stopped or in park, then dies. Decreasing gas mileage. Slow to accelerate

Sometimes that's caused by a vacuum leak near the manifold area.

Sometimes air in the coolant will cause an idle problem. Air will keep the air temp sensor from sending proper info.
Hope this helps.

2000 MAZDA 626 LX 2.0 tries to die at lights or stop signs. Runs fine otherwise.

Engine stalling and rough run issue at low speeds

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

2005 MPV shuts off after I let go of the gas after

I'd pull the "idle air control valve " (located on side of throttle body near front) off, and use some throttle body spray cleaner on it & the port it came out of. Spray pintle (pointed part) good to remove any gunk etc. Re-install, it & try it. if it cures your problem for a while & starts to act up again, replace it.
