Question about 1993 Toyota Pickup

Open Question

My windshield washer doesn't work on my 91 pickup. checked the pump and the plug, they're ok. when I wire the pump directly to the battery, it doesn't work either (thought maybe I could bypass the regular switch, installing a new one in the cab). I have an 89 pickup, same truck essentially, and when I wire that pump straight to the battery it doesn't work either, but when it's plugged in properly it works.\r\nIs there another 'something' that makes the pump work that I'm missing (ie: the pump needs something in addition to 12v). My thought was that the switch was broken and I was planning on wiring it directly to the battery with a new switch- how can I do this? thanks

SOURCE: truck stalls

if it is burning rich, there for it will be over fueling around low rpm i do belive, which will cause the engine to flood, im guessing after you have been low rpm then go for high rpms, it like hesitaes and takes abit of a cough then goes, if that is the case then it is overfueling.

there is a way to advance/****** the engine mixture, but id say for safe if you don't know what your doing to take it do a garage, and ask for it to be timed up with the timing strobe light :) which will stop the, over fuelling around low rpms.

You have a wire off some where look real good, one may have fell down under the battery or somewhere,or there is a fusible link burned.

Sounds like this wire should operate the electric fuel pump through the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay should start the fuel pump to maintain fuel supply to the common fuel rail and any surplus fuel will be bleed back to tank by pressure control. The injector opening sequence is contolled by computer once the engine is properly timed.
If you say the engine runs for a few seconds it would indicate fuel pump or relay is not getting power to operate or fuel pump is not delivering enough pressure to feed the injectors

Low voltage at front windshield washer pump

High resistance, partially broken wire, corrosion or poor connection, something in that circuit...somewhere. Take a voltage reading at the pump's fuse for a starting place- if you have a good 12 volts there, the loss is from that point in the wire to the pump connector. The switch, the junction block. Look at the pump connector- is the wire connection good- and back from it at the wire where it may have got pulled or yanked hard, breaking some wire strands, or got exposed to heat and burned a bit, look for things like that. I hope you don't have to pull some wiring harness apart. That's tedious, easier to rewire it after a point. Good luck.

1984 gmc vandura 3500 windshield washer -no power

it would be easier to remove the washer pump use two pieces of wire and jump it to the battery to make sure the pump even works. if you give it a direct power supply just for a moment to see if it even engages it won't hurt a thing. sure beats crawling all over the place trying to find the problem when it may be the washer motor itself

Windshield washer pump quit working. wipers work ok thou. I can't find an exact replacement.

you can buy a in line pump most anywhere and it just goes in the washer fluid line and the wires from your old pump will need the ends changed to make it work.they come with good instruction.

Your Accent has rear wiper/washer.. correct? That's where the 3rd wire comes in. They sold you/you bought the wrong pump. Here's the wiring diagrams:
