Robert, you have air in the system, if you can not bleed, take it in for a power bleeding, not that expensive as long as there is no other issues.

What could make a thumping noise in front of car? it goes faster as go car faster, it's not the tires, it does not effect the steering.

Have the engine mounts checked. PTs are notorious for engine mounts breaking. I had one and went through mounts like water. When they break, they start making lits of interesting noises.

What is the cause of continual thumping (appears to be coming from back of car) and violently shaking?

Many times, rear tires that are out of round or severely cupped or feathered, or that are out of balance can create this type of issue. My first recommendation would be to have them and the wheels on the rear of the car inspected. There may not seem like there is much wrong visibly if you look at just the tread of the tires, but a good tire tech can spin them up and give you some solutions, and the inspection itself is inexpensive. Hope this helps.

What is the small drive shaft that comes from the tranny that connects to both axels. i beleive the bearing is going. I feel theres a thump thump I can feel in the floor and hear it goes away when breaking...

they call them half shafts
purchase a rebuilt unit for each side
they simply snap in and snap out of the trans after the hub assembly is removed
