Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do i get the advancetrac light to go off, is their a sensor or is it in the transfer case

Christina, May just be a loose Tone ring, plug/wire,wheel speed sensor, etc. You will have to take vehicle into a good shop and have scanned for diagnostic codes to determine which sensor, wire, etc is bad and causing the advance track light to display and estimate repair. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How bad is the warning: service advance trac

When the light is on the system is disabled. You would need to get the body computer checked for trouble codes to find the problem.

The ABS symbol nand 4 x 4 high symbol and advanced trac symbol keep appearing on the dash onMy 2005 Ford Explorer. It has been exteemely cold n the car goes into 4 x 4 without me putting it on

The advance track is going to shift you into whatever you need so it and when it is being used it will come on to alert you it is on. If you hit ice and slip the light will come on. The ABS will go on when it is activated as well. Again, when you are slipping and breaking, the light will come on saying it is engaging. It automatically pumps the breaks for you to shorten the stopping distance. 4 x 4 I don't think is engaged by anything other than being in 4 x 4 so I see this as your only mystery.

Advance trac sensor

There are sensors for the ABS System & the Advance Trac
is an add on & sometimes any option, you have to order for that system

You just check your enhanced codes for that system & diagnose it like any other problem

2005 Ford Explorer TPS and Adavance Trac lights are on.

Yes, using a tire of a different size will likely set the lights. Not sure what your local emissions test requires, but I would not put a bunch of miles on the car with the spare.

The advance trac and awd are not working correctly At start up my 2005 mercury mountaineer has the abs light on , after driving about 50 yards the awd lock light blinks several times then goes to awd...

You current issue is no different than any other
vehicle problem you have had since 1996 when
the OBD2 Systems came into being

You have a MIL Lamp on or check light as some people
call it

You should have checked fore codes immediately within a day
or so to at least know the codes & then googled them to get
some idea of the issues

You know that you have an ABS Braking System issue based on
your owners manual & your abiltiy to recognize Advance Trac etc

Have to have a shop diagnose that system with professional tools

With an AWD issue possible I wouldn't even use it until fixed

The trac control is ussually a bad wheel speed sensor or related
issue

I got a 2005 ford explorer. the check engine and the check advancetrac message comes on. how can i fix this?

Lincoln LS or 05 Explorer?

Check for Codes, you should know and have done that already

Could be a Wheel Speed Sensor,if advance trac is on,if an LS

Still need to have a shop diagnose ABS System, to find component
fault.
