SOURCE: i need to drain my radiator on a 2002 jeep grand cherokee

On many of these, the drain is on the right front of the radiator, sometimes requiring removal of a small panel in the grille or the entire grille. The ones I've serviced, after geting to the drain I've found that it dosen't turn. It is far easier to ignore the drain altogether and remove the lower hose at the radiator. Don't do this on a hot engine unless you like hot antifreeze baths! (I don't)
Good luck

SOURCE: Very rough idle on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition V8

If you haven't changed the plugs or had the fuel system cleaned, now would be a good time to do it. The number 1 culprit for rough idles is dirty injectors or plugs. You can try an injector cleaner in a can (or bottle) for under $10 and see if it helps, and then work from there. If there isn't any improvement then if you are able to, check the plugs for any gunky buildup and if you find a bad plug, make sure you replace them all (or have them replaced) at the same time.

Most larger parts stores carry either chilton or haynes manuals. They are far from perfect and their wiring diagrams are pretty much junk, but overall the do have enough info for most basic and some not so basic repairs. Chilton also offers a download for pay which is better but unless you are doing major complex repair work, likely you won't need it.

Either your heater core is plugged up or your line to the core is restricted. Do a complete reverse rad flush with a radiator cleaning solution and try it. If that doesn't work you'll need a new heater core.

I have a 95 jeep grand cherokee limited edition. over heats going up hills and then cools down once I'm going down the hill.

That is the first sign of a partially obstructed radiator. Check that no leaves or other debris is either on the air conditioner condenser or stuck between the radiator and condenser. If there is nothing there, have the radiator flushed. I recommend you flush the engine and the radiator separately as that engine tends to rust internally and if flushed with the radiator installed, it will plug the radiator up worse than before
If you don't have the time to so that immediately (but you really should) you can turn on the heater which will pull some of the excess heat from the system. (uncomfortable but can save the engine).

Overheating while Eating

Bad themostat, dirty radiator (the front of it), corroded interior core of the radiator, weakening water pump, bad radiator fan.....just to name a few. More than likely? Low antifreeze level, or the thermostat.

I don't know of any real proceedure, Just make sure its full and there is no air traped in the system, If there are any bleeders like around the thermostat housing, or any where in the cooling system open them up while you fill it to let any air to excape If not just fill radiator untill your sure you can't get any more in it before you start it.
