SOURCE: When I try to accelerate my car has no power!

There could be a couple of reasons. Yes a tune up would be nice. But my not fix the problem. If you are not losing acceleration on straight away but on hill, then it could be the torqe converter. Also have your MASS airflow sensor checked and air filter.

Also check your fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Get a fuel gauge and look for a port on the fuel rail for a port that looks like the valve on the tire. Screw it in and crank the car. You will have to call the part store to find out what pressure it is supposed to be. If there is low or eratic pressure the its the filter or pump

SOURCE: Have 95 Nissan Maxima V6 3000 twin cam 24v. The

you have to eliminate several items
one at a time.
but it all comes down to three things air, fuel and fire.(spark)
disconect the gas line and see if the fuel pump is pumping at rated pressure you mayneed a gage for that, gas is dangerous be very careful dumping any amounts about, or disconect and see it squirt into a container ,again be careful. if you are confident that the streem of gas is strong. then it is not the fuel pump.
spark? The sensor for the spark plugs may be a pcm system which is a pulse hall effect sensor that sends a signal though a coil in the distributor. the steel in the coil may be getting rusty and swelling ( steel swells if it rusts ) the mettal plates in the center of the coil may be expanding and now are stretching the copper in the coil so now they are broken but just touching enough to run untill it gets to hot ( mettle expands when hot ) causing the hall effect sensor not to work propery all the time.
check the air cleaner for a proper filter to be clean.
mostly it is either fuel or spark.

Have your timing checked, it is retarding under a load. This genneraly indicates a worn timing belt.

You'll need to change the distributor, as the distributor shaft oil seal has gone bad. Without sufficient spark, you'll have no power. Don't forget a new cap/rotor.

What is the original size tire and rim that came in the 1997 Nissan 200sx

The tire size depends on which of the three models you have. The base model came with P175/70R13, the SE model came with P175/65R14, and the SE-R came with P195/55R15. Check the sticker on the drivers side door jamb and/or owners manual.

I have this talk with my customers almost daily

first things first... figure out how much you spent on this car over the past year and then divide this total by 12
this is the dollar amount you spent month on your vehicle
next compare this to the cost of a "new" car and the monthly payment you will have to make PLUS full coverage insurance
anything less than new isn't worth talking about because that stuff will just brake too and you have no idea what has or hasn't been done in its lifetime

assuming you can't fix things like this yourself, you also may consider leasing

My nissan 200sx se car horn just started going off for no reason. This has happend to my car before. So we unplugged the batterey for tempoary solution, but now i cant drive my car anywhere.

Remove horn button from steering wheel, pull apart and see if the foam between the plates is deteriorated. that keeps the horn from going off. i had similar problem in my 88 mustang, also horn relay may be bad and stiking on if horn button is not the problem
