Hello: There is a switch on top of the steering column under the dash that this connects to. The purpose of the switch is when you have the park brake set and you shift into reverse or drive it will release the park brake. If this feature doesn't work after you connect the line then the vacuum actuator on the park brake assembly may be bad. There is a small lever on the park brake assembly that when you pull back on it, it will release the park brake. You need at least 10" of vacuum to work the system.

92 buick park ave only blows heat through defrost

Sounds like you might have blown the BM unit. As far as the vent selection goes, I worked on a Buick LeSabre a few years ago with the same kind of trouble. There is a vacuum distribution block down under the glove compartment that directs the route air goes. It is notoriously trouble. In my case the block was poorly formed. Sometimes the vacuum connections on the block are plugged, sometimes they crack or break off. Unless you are a full blown Mr Fixit you just need to replace the block.

1988 Sedan DeVille A/C works but all air goes to floor and defrost/windshield. No air though dash vents? Seems there must be an actuator or relay not working?? Don't know what I'm looking at exactly under...

On drivers side check actuator that goes to the parking park, it should have vacum, if it dose it's going be an actuator for the vent door's, if it dont have vacum then go under the hood and look for a vacum hose that goes into the fire wall make sure it has vacum, if the vacum hose goes into a resevor by pass it some time's it get clog, also if you have vacum under the dash with parking brake on, it should release when put into drive. more then likely that will also work once you fix your vacum problem.

1998 Seville emergency brake won't release

the emergency brake is controlled by vacuume from the motor. first look under your dash on the driver side toward the top of your ebake assembley, make sure the vacuume line is hooked up. then check under the pass side of the dash, there is a black box with several color vac lines going to it make sure they are pluged in.there is a vac line going into the firewall mak sure that is hooked up, it leads to the box on the inside of the dash. if all is connected make sure you have vacuum, if so id say you have a bad vacuum ball located at the top of the ebrake assembley,or a bad ebrake assembley at worst.

2003 cadillac deville air wont blow

It sounds to me like your vent switch cable is either bound up, broken, came loose, or the vent switch motor is not working if its electrical. If its vaccuum assist, you have a vaccuum leak in you heating and cooling vac lines.

you can get something called a wiring harness from Walmart (or any place that sells car audio equipment). you plug it into the factory connection that would normally go to the back of the radio, and it has the wires labeled and color coded with what goes where. most times all you would need to do is match up the colors from the harness to the new radio you're trying to install. it makes it really easy to install after market radios, which im assuming you're trying to do.
