Yes if the pump works on direct connection to battery when relay bypassed then its most possible the relay fault. The relay has to be replaced and checked. It should help to solve the problem. But for the exact location of the relay. The exact make model and year of the car is required.
----------- as per the isuzu brand it can be under passenger side under the hood in the fuse box.Or located in the glove box.but still with exact detail of the vehicle the exact location of relay can be provided. --------- Check out the given location for relay, but in case any problem then please keep updated with more query.thanks.

How can i test the fuel relay on a '88 f150

Test the relay base, if it has everything it is suppose to and the circuit still does not operate then the relay is the reasonable suspect. The base should have a constant 12v power supply, this can be tested easy enough with a test light or multimeter set to DCV. one of the other pins should get a 12v signal when the key is switched to the "on" position. another of the pins should have continuity to ground, and the last pin should go to the pump itself. If you put a jumper wire from the pin with constant 12v signal to the one that goes to the pump the pump should run. If the pump runs and you have all of the correct signals at the relay base, then the relay would be the culprit. If the pump does not run when the pins are jumped out then the pump would be the problem.

If I jump the wires to th fuel pump it will pump gas. I have 12volts to th pump relay I have 12v to th throttle injectors but no pulse. I have 12v to th coil but no fire. Got 12v to all fuses. Th code...

Hi, try installing a relay to supply current to the pump, you might have to install a new off/on switch to activate pump with relay(safety measure). Hope this helps with problem.

2004 dodge Dakota heater motor won't work on high speed I think high speed relay is bad I can't find it do you know where relay is located

there is no relay for high speed, the blower relay is only for all other speeds except high. The high speed has a direct 12v lead to it (fused). you will need to check for 12v supply at the motor. If no voltage you woll need to check fuse.

I have done a conversion iv put a jetta 2 cli 1.8 motor in my golf mk 1 I want to know if I need both fuel pumps or wil the pre supply pump be enough? and because the golf had a mechanical fuel pump...

you cant just steel power.you have to have fuel pressure regulator conected with fuel pump relay and pump itself.best way would be to install fuel tank from MK4 with el.pump inside, add relay conected with ignition switch and fusible power from battery

Truck will not start,no fuel pump sound with key on,getting 4volts to each pump 7 volts at reset and 12 at relay, truck has spark w/starting fluid but no fuel supply

Needs 12v to run pumps. Bad grd at pumps?. or possible bad relay try by pass relay. also some were controlled by eng oil press switch off - on try by pass and check for proper voltage. You can also by pass all devices and power pumps by 12v.

Mitsubishi eclispe 2001 rs won't start theres no spark and dont hear the gas pumping

change the pcm relay or fuse. this relay supply 12 volt to fuel pump and ignition coil. go to the dealer and ask for the diagram for pcm relay and read it carefully or ask a friend to help you. check the fuse that supply 12v to the relay. mechanic shop will charge you for big price for electrical problem. most pcm relay is near the car computer at passenger side.

look in the passenger side kick panel theres a relay there! and also under the driver seat! but if you are still having this problem its probably gona be a replace of fuelpump and relay inside the fuel tank

No Power to Fuel pump

I would check the ground for the fuel pump relay that operates the switch side of the relay.
You should have 2 12v inputs to the relay. When the relay gets 12v input, it closes the relay switch on the heavy current side that sends 12v to the fuel pump.

A relay is needed because you don't want heavy current going through the switch.

Also, most cars only run the fuel pump for 2 seconds when the key is turned on because you don't want the fuel pump running without the car running. If you listen closely at the fuel tank, you should hear the pump run for 2 seconds when you turn the key to "ON"
When the key is turned to "START", the fuel pump should run continuously.
The engine computer tells the fuel pump to shut off if the engine rpms are zero.
So, I would check the switch side of the relay. Power amd ground.
