Lift and support front end on suitable jack stands preferably on frame. Remove right front cv axle, stub shaft, and seal. You will need to pull the right front brake caliper assembly loose and place to the side. Then remove bolts from shock and upper control arm and hub nut to do this. Next, remove axle lock actuator on passenger side of front axle. Place a drain pan underneath front diff cover and remove cover and drain axle. In the center of differential there will be an 8 mm head bolt holding spider gear cross-shaft. Remove bolt and cross-shaft only! Push inner axle in until clip clears inside of passenger spider gear. Set clip aside and push/pull axle shaft straight out to passenger side.

How to change my front differential seal and bearing ? passenger side. I bought a new wheel bearing because of a humming sound on passenger side and doing so saw leaking seal and maybe the humming was...

That will be a Huge job. The whole front diff must come out of the car and the case will need to be taken apart to even gain acess to the carrier side bearings.
The hub bearing is where the wheel bolts up is that maybe what you are talking about?
Also the axle seal isn't that bad to do you need to remove the cv shaft then it's just a simple remove the seal and install the new one.
But all of these jobs will be big ones.

My front differential is leaking!

I cannot see it, but I am guessing that you need to replace your axle seal. To do this, you have to pull your CV shaft out. Remove the tire, remove the caliper from the top of the rotor. Using a hammer on the back, remove the rotor. Take off the spindle (axle) nut, separate the axle (CV shaft) from the hub. Replace seal. It should pop right out. Good luck!

Rear axle leaking

Block the front tires. Break the rear lugs loose. Jack up the rear of the truck at the center if possible. remove the wheels & brake drums. Remove the brake shoes, return springs & all the other hardware. Remove the differential cover & drain oil. If you have a posi the next step sucks. You need to remove the threaded pin from the housing & remove the axle retaining clips. All the while, being carefull of the spring in the posi unit. If no posi, then same procedure, minus the "pucker factor". After the axle is out, take a large flat blade screw driver or pry bar & pop the seal out. Keep in mind the axle bearing is probably gone too , so that's another procedure. Keep it apart, you'll be glad you did.

you need to pull off wheels, brakes, rotor /unit hub bearing, both axles and intermediate shaft, as well as the vac disconnec ton the front axle tube. if only the right side leaks then only then only pull the right axle and intermediate shaft and vac disco. it is a trick with a miller tool to replace the seal. the left side seal is inside the diff and the carrier has to come out to replace it. pete

Grease leak toyota 4runner 1996

You need to disconnect the rear wheel cylinder brake line and pull off the rear backing plate, via the 4 bolts that are visible after you remove the brake shoes. One the backing plate is loose, take it down, out of the way, and pull the axle shaft straight out. You will need several parts from a Toyota Dealer, and a machine shop to press off the old bearings and seals, and to press on the new bearings and seals. Go to the dealer & tell them your problem, we do this job once-twice a week; a common issue. The only seal that you can change yourself is the axle tube "outer" seal, you will see it when you pull out the shaft. But, this seal is not the cause of your leak. The inner seal on the shaft is worn. You will also need to replace the oily brake shoes, too. Hope this helps. A FIxYa rating would be appreciated.

2005 Yukon Front Diff Axle seals

You don't have to remove the whole diff to change the seals, but you will have to seperate it where the shaft meets the carrier housing. There is a clip holding the passenger axle shaft in place that you have to remove to change the seal. The drivers side axle stub can be removed with a little force as there is a spring clip holding that side in.
