Yes if it is leaking fluid. Not only does the level drop causing over heating, it lets the pressure escape allowing the fluid to boil at a lower temperature.

1994 chevy 1/2 ton brake fluid is leaking from the bottom of the plastic fluid reservior

You need to replace the reservoir, fill the new reservoir, and bleed the brakes. Either the o-rings and seals have failed, or there is a timy crack or series of them at the bottom of the reservoir around the outlet from the reservoir to the master cyclinder. A '94 model anything has been through thousands of heat cycles and the reservoir sits right above the driver's side exhaust manifold.

I have a 2001 ford expedition 5.4ltr and the heat doesn't get warm like it is supposed to

First, check to see that both heater hoses are getting warm the same amount If yes, air blend door may be not operating correctly due to vacuum leak or bad actuator. Failling check valve near vacuum reservior can do this too.

03 buick century, ac control knob blows out on all vents regardless where I position it. David

This usually is related to the vacuum reservior tank/cannister or the hose leading to that chamber. Any other vacuum hose leak could cause a similar problem depending upon it's location.

The hose leading to the cannister is usually just a thin single hose/tube leading to the cannister. The system allows vacuum to build up in the vehicle and maintains vacuum on the A/C system under heavy acceleration where a loss of vacuum would cause the A/C to change operation (switching from defrost to other venting and vice-versa) due to the loss.

You could have a cracked vacuum hose, or a cracked cannister.

You can use regular carburetor cleaner in a spray can with a nozzle, and carefully spray the vacuum lines on your vehicle when idling, and should notice a change in RPMs if you spray near a leak. Only spray a small amount at a time and let the engine compartment air out between spraying/testing since this is a flammable product.

This should lead you to identify any leaks.

Good luck!

I have a 2000 ford taurus. It is leaking antifreeze out of my reservior tank. I don't see any leaks anywhere. It is not showing hot in the inside. I drive for about 20 miles and stop and it is leaking...

if it is leaking it will eventually over heat, these tanks are know as expansion tanks, and will over time deteriorate and get fine cracks that open when hot, remove and inspect the tank itself should be a 1 hour job, good luck i hatge this car

01 Ford Expedition, Windshield washer reservior drains out over night, can't see any visable leaks? Removed battery and box and reservior. nothing leaking....

pull the right side kick panel off under the glove box. the washer fluid tube cracks behind the panel and it drains into the vehicle. you will need some vacuum tubing to repair the line.

Can a worn coolant reservoir cap cause a 2002 Cadillac to run hot?

I would check to see if the hose has fallen off the reservior container, if this occurs the
engine will vent coolant and get an air pocket and run hot. (This happened recently on
my S-10 pickup) The hose had fallen behind the battery and did not appear out of place.
I would also suspect the thermostat sticking as a secondary culprit if no air pocket exists
in the engine block. The reservior tank holds liquid to be drawn back into the engine as
it heats up and cools down and should never be completely empty. Hope this is helpful.

I have a 2004 Kia Sorento, i get head when moving only, is it the Heater or the Termostate ?

Check out your coolant level first, and it may need to be filled. There has been a known promblem of the coolant reservior leaking on the sorento and causing low level of coolant, and causing no heat because coolant wasn't pressurize enought to the termostate until car acutally moving or in high rpm.

Running hot, coolant blowing out reservior cap, changed thermostat same problem, removed thermostat problem ok,but now no heat. is there a coolant fill valve that needs to be opened when filling coolant....

first have the cooling system and cap pressure checked, system should hold pressure forever, and so should the cap, running without thermostat will cause uneven engine heat and affect emissions
