Need to know where the thermostat is located in my 2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo v6 4.0.liter

Thermostat is at the front of the engine on the cylinder head. The upper hose and temp sending unit are attached to it. It has two 13mm bolts holding it to the head. The therm goes in with the spring end pointing into the engine. Take care that it does not slip down while installing as it is mounted vertically. All gasket material must be removed or it will leak.

How to change the thermostat on a 3.4L engine for the 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT

You have to locate the big hose that comes off the radiator and follow it to where it goes into the the engine block. There will be 4 bolts on the flanged housing. The thermostat is in that housing.

I am in the process of searching for a manual for you. In the meantime, follow the radiator hose to the motor. Once you've reached a little housing with 3 bolts on it, you're there
