I have a telstar tx5 1992 ax model with a mazda mx6 engine in it. the problem is that it misfires and backfires goes to stall in reverse and at traffic lights is hard to start now and i cannot locate a manual,it also has the hold light flashing all the time and no one can tell me what the problem is and how i can fix it ,can anyone help me?
Also I found that the Overdrive Hold light is a warning light for the computers for when there is a problem, such with a sensor. If a tech hooks the car upto the Diagnostic equipment they use, they can see what the Error Code is with the computer. They then look this up in their Code Error list and can see what possible problems related to the Error Code and look at what problems the car is experiencing.

Re: have i been sold a lemon
Lets look at obvious someone who put car together ran it like a fast and furious car the first thing i would do is buy a new alternator and then take to a tech with computer software to reset the mazda engine back to factory settings i believe that when they sold to dealer the person removed all aftermarket equipment and left the computer with the running parameters not reseting it back to factory settings i believe that this is your trouble
if a computer factory reset didnt work then i would say yes they sold you a lemon
this engine seriously upgraded for this particular car

Hi there:This is a Australian Ford model, I suggest look your Onwers Manual on eBay or local dealer.
The Telstar was usually only available as a sedan or hatchback (known as the TX5). However, after 1988, a Telstar version of the 626 wagon was sold in Japan and New Zealand; so, you could try look some Mazda Owners Manual too.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.
there is an idle valve on the throttle body. it opens to keep a cold engine running, then closes when the engine warms up. if it sticks open, car will run good for a few seconds then stall the warmer it gets
most likelly when your fuel pump gets hot it looses the pressure going to engine replace fuel filter and if this dont help then have the fuel pressure test done when problem is present
and if not good replace fuel pump
