Fuel goes into 2002 gmc jimmy very slow. could it be fuel sensor? where is this located?

On your Jimmy there is a solenoid that controls fuel vapor emissions.
When filling the vehicle this solenoid called the "canister vent valve" should be open allowing the vapors to reach the carbon canister where these vapors are stored to be burned later.
These solenoids can seize closed and not allow the tank to vent properly.
This solenoid will need to be replaced.
It is mounted above and ahead of the spare tire so the tire will need to be removed to gain access to it.
After you remove the spare it is only a matter of disconnecting a couple of hoses and a wire connector then removing the valve.

Those hoses are located in the same area as the tank filler. There is a set of hoses that go from the gas cap connection to the tank. You have to lower the tank.

i have a 1990 jimmy and it should b the same but follow the fuel tube along the undercarage and u should come to the filter and then all u do is unbolt the clamp and unbolt the filter and in goes the new one..

i have a 1986 S-15 JIMMY and found the fuel filter on the engine block. Located below the power steering pump, on drivers side.

Its most likely the sending unit in the fuel tank is not working properly and needs replaced.

Need to know the location of the fuel filter on 1994 GMC Jimmy. I have low, slow acceleration.


follow the fuel line coming from the fuel tank towards the front along the side frame rail. You should see it inline with clips holding in place. the clips must be compressed to remove the filter
