There is a float valve. There may also be a filter on the inlet. First check for filter, then remove top from float bowl to see why fuel isn't flowing in. You may want to get a rebuild kit. they aren't expensive and they usually come with instructions.

It's obviously not getting fuel to the carburator. If you don't remember the last time you changed the fuel filter then do that first. It will be metal cylinder mounted beteween the fuel line and the carb, usuallly screws into the carb. You'll need to take it with you to the auto parts store so it can be matched up. If you are still having the problem, it's likely the fuel pump has worn out and will need to be replaced.

No firing after carburator fitted from fuel injection

map sensor will stop all fire if not hooked up correctly. In order for you to run a carb, you will also have to remove the electric fuel pump from the tank, and install older style tank. if you try to use the electric pump in tank, it runs at much higher pressures, which will flood the carb with fuel, and the carb float will not be able to hold it back. So what are you going to do for a fuel pump? This is always a bad idea, best bet if you want to run a carb, is to get an engine set up for one and scrap that fuel injected block as it don't have a place to mount a mech. fuel pump. bad idea, bad idea, bad idea, your just spinning your wheels mate!

I have a 97 Dakota with a v8 it starts every time and dies I have dumped fuel threw the top and it stays running until the fuel is gone the fuel pump is good and the crank sensor is good does anyone no...

Take the next step in troubleshooting...follow the gas! After the fuel pump is the fuel filter( when did you change it last?) ; if that doesn't work go to the carburator and see if it is getting gas by opening the fitting to it; if the fuel is making it to the carburator, the carb is the culprit...overhaul it or get a rebuilt one!

Will not start but if i poor gas in the carburator it will then when i shut it off and then try to start it it will not start back up unless i poor gas in the carb what could it possibly be thank you....

Its faulty fuel pump. When you pour gas in carb, it gets fuel directly, but when you start without pouring gas, then fuel is not reaching there.Low fuel pressure.Replace fuel pump and fuel filter.----- Thank you.

1988 mercedes 190 e only runs if I dump fuel down the carburator then dies. Its not getting fuel for some reason.

The fuel pump has gone bad in it. It's time to replace it. I'm sure that the carb. is fine since you can dump fuel down it and it will run for a short time. Fuel just isn't getting into the carb. for the car to run right.

Fuel not getting to carburator

After you dump the fuel in the throttle body it will continue to run on its own or die as soon as it burns up all the fuel you dump in? Do you have access to (Noid lights)? Are both plugs attached to the distributor?
