Question about Chevrolet Beretta
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
(see Figures 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6)
The front seat assemblies are secured to the floor at 3 points. The center, front of the seat is bolted to an adjuster which in turn is secured by 2 bolts that thread into weld nuts in the floor pan. Two rollers at the rear of the seat which are an integral part of the seat, travel in guide tracks. The inboard track is secured to the side of the inner rocker panel and the outboard track secures to the side of the floor pan tunnel. Removal and installation of both front and rear seats are obvious upon inspection. When installing the seats and cushions the following torque specifications should be used:
Seat adjuster to floor pan bolts - 7-11 ft. lbs. (10-15 Nm).
Recliner to seat frame bolts - 15-21 ft. lbs. (20-28 Nm). Seat adjuster to seat frame nut - 7-10 ft. lbs. (10-14 Nm).
Track guide to floor pan bolt - 7-10 ft. lbs. (10-14 Nm)
1991-92 Vehicles and later
Seat adjuster to floor pan bolts - 26 ft. lbs. (36 Nm) Recliner to seat frame bolts - 18 ft. lbs. (24 Nm) Seat adjuster to seat frame nut - 21 ft. lbs. (29 Nm) Rear seat cushion to floor pan bolts - 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm) Rear seat back anchor bolts - 31 ft. lbs. (42 Nm) Foldown rear seat back bolts - 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm)
