SOURCE: My 1996 Saturn SL1 runs very sluggish w/A/C on

idle is too low you see the problem with saturn sl1 is its a single cam engine that puts out only 100hp and when you get into low idling such as 800 rpms where it should be idling at when you hit the a/c the rpms drop a good 150 so turn the idle up more or is it during driving conditions?

you test for power and ground before replacing horn. horn can be held in by a blot.

Could be the head also, but eithe way, you need to take the head into the machine shop to have it inspected before putting it back on.

My car calls for 5W30 specifically for oil. I can use coolant that works for both types of coolant, or the orange coolant only. brake fluid should be just about anything

test fan by unhoohing plug, run power and ground wires from battery to fan if fan runs then fan is ok, if not then bad fan, check fan relay and coolant temp sensor, if fan is ok,

Rear lights aren't working in my 1996 saturn SL1.Not bulb problem


Check fuses next, best done with a meter or a test light. You have a panel to the right of the center console in the front where the passengers left foot is, There is also one under the hood by the left headlight area. Remember that fuses for lights are only powered with the light switch on.

Where do i locate the heat sensor on my 1996 saturn SL1


The Coolant temp sensor is located on the cylinder head just under upper radiator hose.Connetor has a yellow & black wire,also check condition of your Connector.Theyare bad for get corroded from coolant seapage through the old ceramic sensor.Replacement should be brass!!

Replaceing coil pack on 1996 saturn sl1


looking at the motor follow the plug wires down to the coil pack located lower middle of engine.take wires of making note were they are posistioned unplug electrical connection should be 3 bolts 10mm. heads.then remove

it could be a blown head gasket or trying to go out anyway or you coould have a stuck valve
