Here you go free of charge curtorsey About.com I do not have a photo of the distributor cap. Just turn the engine over until the #1 piston is at TDC on the compression stroke and the rotor will be pointing at the #1 piston. Connect that to the #1 plug and then connect the next on to the # 3 plug going counterclockwise, then 4 and finally 2. I have a 1997 Toyota Camry 4-Cyl. I need the plug - 53f57a7.png

Hi Juan !
the spark plugs wires are 4 (four) the engine works in sequence of 1342 on the distributor cap mostly writes 1 ( one ) this means the first piston-the first spark -lead. if it is there then go clockwise and put the rest following the firing order I wrote above.

I need to find firing order and witch coil is coil # 1

I assume it is a 4-cyl? Firing order is 1-3-4-2, and no 1 plug is at the front, or timing belt end of the engine.

I'm working with a 1994 4 cyl. 2.2L Camry. It suddenly started running rough. Like a bad miss. Replaced the plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor button....no change. There is fire going to the plugs...

it may be an injector problem on that cylinder, the injector could be blocked or the wiring or connector is faulty.....hope this helps......cheers.

I have installed the spark plug wires on my 1998 camry 4 cyl 2.2 l engine, but it's not starting and I think they are on wrong.Could tell me the correct way on both sides of the wires?

anyone that changes plug wires needs to change one wire at a time then there is no problem, for some reason people believe that it`s only a 4 cylinder how can i mess up 4 wires but people do it all the time if the ignition coils have numbers by the wire towers where the plug wires are connected those are the cylinder #`s that refer to the engine cylinders.#1 cylinder is at the front or far left when you are facing the front of the car then 2 then 3 then 4 as you look towards the right.you just have to match the plug wire with the cylinder to the # on the coil towers.the firing order is 1,4,3,2 for this engine

I need a spark plug wiring diagram for a 1992 Toyota Camry, 4 cylinder, 2200 motor.

I believe your firing order is 1-3-4-2. You may see a number 1 on the distributor cap on this vehicle. That is the #1 plug wire. The wire hole next to that would go to spark plug 3 etc. Easiest way is to change wires one at a time. Hope this helped.

I replaced the spark plug wire and some got the wires crossed on a 2000 toyota Camry 4 cyl can you help me? thanks

Your firing order is 1-3-4-2

You have learned a valuable lesson! Only do 1 wire at a time! Hey, I've messed this up several times, I didn't learn from it!

1 2 3 4 1
standing in front of 4 this is where the wires plug in to the coil pack, also viewed
vehicle, this is how 2standing in front of vehicle, facing engine
the cylinders are numbered. 3
(facing engine)
Please rate this, thanks, good luck, let me know if you need further help.Curt

Need help replacing wires on dist cap 1987 4 cyl Trooper

Firing order is stamped on the block intake manifold or label. 4 cyl are typically 1324

From the web:
The firing order for four cylinder engines where the cylinders are in-line is 1243 or 1342.
Those are the only two possibilities I've ever found for inline four cylinder engines. In practice, it's almost always 1342, except for Ford engines which are 1243.

Take one off at a time and replace it

Do not run the wires parallel (side-by-side) for more than 6". Cross them over each other wavy-like if needed. This will prevent crossfire.

Replace Points, Plugs, Condenser, Rotor and Cap too.

Good luck!
