Your brake switch is defective and needs to be replaced. It's located above the brake pedal.

My driver side taillight won't stay on. It can blink when I signal or have my hazard lights on but they won't stay on. Mechanic replaced the lights about two or three times but still no. Any ideas?

Could be a bad ground connection.
The ground could be too weak to carry voltage for the tail lamp circuit and the turn signal too.
The tail lamp and turn signal are two separate circuits.

You have a lot going on there.possibly the lighting control module but only a guess without further diagnosis. Take it to a reputable garage that deals with electric concerns a lot..but they may tell you to bring to deal

Sounds like the brake lights are staying on, which is probably a faulty brake light switch on the pedal.

Brake lights stay on all the time. tail light 95 mercury villager

Just had the same thing happen to our minivan.......went to the Nissan dealer, since the Villager and the Nissan are the same van, and they actually had the parts in stock. Tell them what is wrong and have them pull up the schematic. You need 2 plastic buttons that push in the holes by the brake pedal. It cost about $10 for the 2 of them.

Tail lghts/brake lights

Isn't that mysterious? It took me a few weeks to figure it out. Look carefully under the break pedal. There is this device called a "break light switch". I hope that helps.

Tail Lights stay on all the time.

under the dashboard on the drivers side. look at the brake pedal lever. there should be a switch attached. push switch in and twist to remove. then pull the button as far out as it will go. while holding brake pedal down reinstall switch. then pull pedal up to top. this will reset the brake light switch. if they stay on still, then just replace the brake light switch.
