Nope. There are 2 bolts under the trailing link. Remove them and the single bolt in the top of the shock an you're home free.

There is a fine mesh screen sock on the pickup tube in the gas tank, replace that. It will collapse and starve the fuel pump, but not all the time.

try changing the flywheel sensors. My 86 had exact the same problem, i changed the spark plugs, wires, distributor and finally the good o alfa mechanic found the issue. good luck
