Question about 2004 Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe
You are right to have question marks. Just put a voltmeter across the battery terminals and if you can see 14.5 volts when the car is running then your alternator is more than likely OK. Take the car to Autozone and have the codes lifted from the PCM diagnostics. Running rough can have a variety of sources and in my book the alternator would not be one of them. It could be that a good clean out of your throttle body interior is all that is needed. Just disconnect the air ducting between air cleaner and throttle throat and using WD40 along with a cloth, wipe out any oily dirt on and behind the throttle plate. Re-assemble and check all vacuum lines to the inlet manifold to avoid leaks. If you still have problems the diagnostic error codes will help pinpoint the area to look at.
