Question about 1999 Dodge Stratus
The most common issue for the transmission not shifting is faulty speed sensors on the transmission. These are inexpensive to replace and there are 2 of them.
You should however have the fault codes read to find out what code has been stored and this will tell you where to look for the trouble. Many larger parts stores will read the codes for free for you.

Probably sensors! I have already replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor once, nissan replaced it once under recall and now it is bad again! Plus my speed sensor is bad too! Go to any part store and get diagnostic test ran, it will tell what sensors are bad.

your ultradrive transmisson has failed, and your stuck in limp home mode. you have 3rd and reverse.
that was the good news.
the bad is that you need a new transmission. the ultradrive transmissions are very problematic. do a wikipedia.org search on chyrsler ultradrives and than write a really angry letter.
your not the only one that transmission has left of the side of the road

You need to have the vechicle scanned for codes.I believe you are going to limp in mode on the computer.Have them check all codes, transmmission and body along with engine.
