Question about 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

2 Answers

My 2005 Crysler Town and Country has a rattle noise coming from the serpentine belt area(maybe alternator) when the A/C is on and I'm in gear, but not moving. A/C compressor has been replaced with new one. Dealership say's it's normal.

2005 Chrysler Town & Country 3.8L. I have the same problem. You can see the belt vibrating just above the A/C compressor. Changing the belt did not help. I will be doing the adjuster pulley next. Seemed bad when I changed the belt.

My 2007 Town and Country touring 3.8L is making a noise and gets louder when put into gear at a idle but cannot hear while I'm driving just stopped and idling?

if the noise started after the belt replacement, check the belt tensioner. They are notorious for seizing at the pivot, especially after belt replacement. Hope this helps.

Replacing the alternator on a 2005 town & country

Its pretty much nuts and bolts. Remove the serpentine belt. Unplug the connector, remove the large battery cable and unbolt. The bottom bolts are easier to get at with the passenger front tire and splash shield removed.

How to change serpentine belt on a 2005 chrysler town and country. Is a special wrench needed for the tensioner?

There is a youtube video that shows how to change the serpentine belt/tensioner/idler, but on my 2005, the tensioner looks OEM and doe snot have a squared off end to easily use a wrench to turn.

I think I have a sepentine tool (flat with square 3/8's drive) I can use to turn the tensioner.

What part is located in the front of the engine between the engine head and the radiator, it is making a rattling sound at high idle

lots of parts, alternator, water pump, a/c compressor lower area . many of them are on the serpentine belt. the pulleys and tensioner can make rattles. you need to confirm which part has the rattle or vibration, use a stick or screw driver. touch one end on the part and the other near your temple...any noise/vibration coming through?

fiind which one it is. lower noise on the crank can also sound like its coming from up front and that's a deep rattle.

My battery light comes on and steering wheel locks up. What could this be?

Steering wheel locks up? or does it get very hard to steer? If it gets very hard to steer sounds like your Serpentine belt is slipping. You may have a bad belt tensioner or possibly somthing leaking on belt causing it to slip. The belt runs the alternator and powersteering. Also check condition of the belt itself. Shiny or streached belt could cause it to slip also.

A constant churp while the engine is idling

sounds like an auxillary device like alternator, power steering pump, water pump, etc. check all your fluids. pay special attention to your alternator, i have heard this before and it ended up being an alternator

How to fix ipod in factory setting in 2005 crysler

Here's an option for you http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-FM-MOD02-Modulator-Satellite-Portable/dp/B001QBG614. Alternatively, you can go through crutchfield.com and use their Shop | Car Audio & Video | Outfit my car tool. You can customize your exact car model/build and see options for what kinds of items they have (I like Crutchfield - you often get extra perks with them like installation help/etc, but you can often just search the web for the same equipment and find it cheaper).
