The only three cause for this are either your fusible link for the alternator has failed, your supply wire from your alternator to your battery has become damaged, or your leads goin into your alternator a loose and not properly secured on the alternator.I hope I could help, rate me accordingly, Thanks...

1998nissan sendra doesn't charge but the battery light goes off when i start the engine when I remove bartery terminal engine stop running

A 98 still has a computer so with out power it will die my guess is corroded wires first use a multi meter and check for voltage on the terminal on the alternater it should show 13 to 14.5 volts D/C then check the battery see if it has 13 to 14 volts if yes it is charging if the altenater show 13 to 14 it is charging if the voltage is 11 to 12 or lower it is just reading the battery and you need a alternater if the aliternater is good and the battery is not charging it is either the power wire or ground you can use jumper cables to check jump from the post on the alternater to positive battery by its self if this fixes it it is the power wire if not unhook the positive and then connect the ground thermal to the engine block and see if that fixes it if not do both you will see the problem good luck

Toyota Camry 1997, 4 cyl, when ignition is turned on, the fuse for cluster instrument blows instantly also alternator not charging , but the alternator has been checked and is good.

their is a shout in one of the wires running from the alternater start at the alternater and work your way back from their. the alternater will test good as it shuts down for safty so the car will not just keep produceing electricity and start burnning wires.

Alternator has been removed and tested to be good, battery cables are good. the charging system will not charge any higher than 9 volts. i installed a new belt and the good battery has been fully charged....

Most Likely the Harness At the Alternater has an Open Short>> Wire BROKEN INSIDE its INSOLATER, Check for this as it Is A Fairly Common Problem with Your Discription / Symptom, This Applies to the PLUG and the Main Power Lead on the Alternater, Also Rule Our Fusable LINK INLINE With The SINGLE POSSITIVE WIRE Aff the Back of the Alternater.

F350 2004 6.0 brand new alternator not charging new batteries , battery light stays on , what could I be missing?

Just cause its a new alternator does mean it should work. I would check the charge when running cause it could just be a bad alternator.

99 dodge ram will not charge battery new battery they say my alternater is good alternater fuse is good

When you say the fuse is good, do you mean the fusible link. 140 Amp? See diagram below. The link is the only thing that can prevent the battery from charging. Check the voltage at the battery with the engine running. It should be at least 14 volts if the alternator and circuit are good.

The car wont take a complete charge

If able, ck the charging voltage at the battery. The alternater should be charging the battery between 13,6 to 14.2v. The lower the voltage the more its charging. Make sure both battery cables are clean and tight. Good Luck.

Sometimes alternater does not charge battery

Drive the car to the auto parts store and have them test the battery and alternator for proper charge.  You probably just bought a dud, even though they are new.  Doesn't happen much but does happen.
