My 2004 3400 closed system ,runs hot in town unless heater is on. driving up a mountain pass it gets very hot.on a flat highway runs normal. new t state, resivior cap, both fans work no leaks or smell

Radiator fan motor or radiator fan thermostat defective/

Also there is a relay that operates the fan motor

In town not enough air passing through radiator allowing it to over temp.. With heater fan running acts like cooling fan keeping engine cool

Highway driving ample air passing through radiator without fan.

Hill climbing requires cooling fan/

Hope this helps?

Air lock cooling system

Not sure I follow your wording on the different temps. If the system is full of coolant and working correctly, the thermostat should open at 195 degrees which would be several miles down the road. Once the thermostat opens both radiator hoses should be warm. If the water pump is not working the engine will get hot very quickly.
Have you tried running without the thermostat to see what happens ?

Keep looseing water out of radiator into resivior no water coming from exhaust no water in the oil cannot see a water leak only water comic from head of resivior it's a Mitsubishi l200 4 life+ 55reg

Most radiator start draining water if there is microscopic leaks or punctures. The system is a sealed unit and is not supposed to drain unless there is huge pressure within due to heating that can release the pressure cap on the radiator to release water to the overflow tank.
So the radiator must be filled and allowed to stand and if there is loss after a day or after the engine is running for sometime , you must check the pressure cap or else there is fault on the radiator ASSUMING that the engine is working normal- timing and tuning in correct condition.

THE TEMP GAGE KEEPS GOING UP HIGH THEN DOWN WHILE DRIVING . THE FAN ISNT BLOWING WARM AIR EITHER WELL SOMETIMES IT DOES

This seem like the case of low coolant level, check your coolant resivior and if it's empty or low, fill it up to max. Also you may need to fill coolant into the radiator via the radiator cap. You should be good to go.

98 Acura CL 3.0 - I can't locate where the coolant reservoir is located under the hood.

An easy way to locate the res is to look at the top of the radiator where the cap is then you will see a small hose leaving the radiator right where the cap is then follow the hose and it will lead you to the resivior, this resivior should be located behind the radiator on a bracket.

2005 Murano gurgling and no heat at low idle. How do you purge the coolant system? Some cars I know are tricky at bleeding air after servicing system.

All you need to do is fill resivior and radiator, if theres no cap on radiator then fill resivior and then start and let reach operating temp, leave cap off while topping off as engine warms replace cap and run until fans run then shut engine down and let cool after cooling remove cap start engine and add if needed, hope this helps.

How do I change the coolant? there is not a radiator cap to pour the coolant in after the coolant drains

you fill it through the resivior, after you drain it you then fill resivior and it will fill engine from there.

Cooling system

there should be. its likely a "closed" system, meaning you fill coolant through your resivior tank. look for a plastic "bottle" or "container" next to your radiator, or alond the left side of the engine bay as you face your engine. you should find a cap that says something like "do not open hot- under pressure" on the resivior tank you should see level marks molded into the tank/container. these indicate coolant level at cold and hot. also look for a tube coming out of the tank leading into the radiator. this tube feeds coolant back into your radiator. hope this helps
