Sounds like a leaking heater core, must remove dash to replace and is located on the passsenger side of the dash. Before confirming it is the heater core Use a pressure tester and test radiator and all hose check for leaks under the hood first to rule out any other leaks.

2000 cirrus is leaking rad fluid somewhere, radiator is not leaking

check your hoses, water pump heater core radiator cap, if car has been overheated, check exhaust for steam and smell of coolant, check oil make sure it is not milky, last 2 are symptoms of blown head gasket

The 2000 dodge grand caravan has two lines running from a cylinder just to the right and bottom of the radiator. it looks like power steering fuel runs through

if their metal, the could be coming from transmission fluid lines, are they going into radiator ? one @ top & one @ bottom of rad . their cooling lines from trans, supply / return . if rubber lines, they go to a transmission cooler , looks like a small radiator, rectangular , supply / return. power steering has no cooling . these lines don't come from engine, power steering has power steering fluid NOT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR TRANSMISSION FLUID, TOTALLY DIFFERANT !!!!!!

Freon smell coming through vents on 323ibmw

I don't think there is any smell put into refrigerant,so
you may be smelling coolant from a heater hose or
heater core leak or system valve, somewhere

The A/C cycling could be low refrigerant, in which case
you have it leak tested & system repaired

You don't try to add yourself,it will leak out & pollute
the atmosphere

My 2000 jeep grand cherokee has an overheating problem, replaced radiator ,hoses and thermostat , but still runs hot

Is the fan working properly? Is the radiator flowing correctly? Does the rad cap hold the proper pressure?

2000 grand am se

Many things can cause this. It could be a slipping fan belt. This would cause the water pump to not pump enough water. Check the condition of the belt & replace if necessary. Also the water pump may be failing. The engine coolant may be low &/or leaking inside or outside the engine. Take the rad cap off when the engine is cool & check the level & start the engine & see if you cansee flowing liquid through the rad . No flow, bad water pump. Or the thermostat needs to be replaced, it may be stuck open or closed in your case. The thermostat is at the end of the upper rad hose & is removed by unbolting the thermostat housing after draining the fluid from the rad so it is low enough not to lose any. You may have a head gasket leak, ckeck to see if you notice any white residue on your oil dip stick & give the tail pipe the finger test &se if you can smell burnt antifreeze smell. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Heating and over heating

if you smelled rad fluid then chances are you have a leak, you didnt say if you had to top it up at all, low fluid level will cause loss of heat, and the overheat prob sounds like thermastat replacement time, i would start with the thermastat

No heat, replaced thermostat, water pump, heater core, all hose ok

When you put your hand on the inlet & outlet heater hoses are they both hot to the touch ? I mean 'ouch' hot, not just warm.
You might have an 'air lock' in the system if they are only warm, or temp feels quite different between them.
If possible, leave the return heater hose loose, start engine, let it warm up then bleed the system using return hose for a minute or so.
KEEP rad full while bleeding.
tighten hose, then watch the radiator fill hole for signs of air bubbles or frothing coming up thru antifreeze.
If either are present, you may have compression leak !
Another check for compression leak, is put rad cap on, drive around the block twice, let vehicle cool down then slowly remove rad cap & smell at filler hole as cap comes off.
compression leak will smell strong & burn eyes.. & we both know there is only one cure for that situation !!

Heater blowing clod air

the heater core behind the dash may be bad, it is the coolant tank for the heater system that is to say it is where the heat comes from. kinda pricey to have repaired at a dealership, if you can hear the fan turning but no heat, than it is a good possibility, or a vent hose has fallen off, get down and check under the dash
