Question about 1999 GMC Denali
Either the rod to the handle fell of or the tab to the handle were the rod goes into broke off

there is a metal bar inside that clips into the handle they come off all the time there is a plastic clip that hold the 2 together it most likely has fallen off and into the bottom of the door you can put it back together easily if clip cannot be found you can buy them at local parts store for a couple bucks..hope this helps

It's probably broken, or unhooked. Just take your inner door panel off, and you'll soon figure out what's happening. Sometimes the rods get bent, or they come off the clip, or just need adjusting. And sometimes the handle itself is broken, but you can do it!

The linkage to the inside door has either come off or broken. You can acsess this handle for inspection by removing the inside door panel.

DRIVER OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE WILL NOT OPEN DOOR. FROZE UP IN ICE STORM AND APPEARED TO BREAK WHEN TRIED TO OPEN DOOR. INSIDE HANDLE STILL WORKS. IS DIY REPAIR FEASIBLE?
