Question about Dodge Dakota
The hydraulic linkage system is serviced as an assembly only. No
maintenance is required. The individual components that form the system
cannot be overhauled or serviced separately. The cylinders and
connecting lines are sealed units. Bleeding or flushing is not required.
Fluid level will increase as the clutch wears. A level ring is provided on the reservoir. Level should not be above the ring. If it is, suspect an unacceptable amount of clutch wear.
These vehicles use a hydraulic system to engage the clutch. The system consists of a master cylinder, reservoir, slave cylinder and fluid lines.
The master cylinder push rod is connected to the clutch pedal. The slave cylinder push rod is connected to the clutch release fork. The master cylinder is mounted on the firewall adjacent to the brake master cylinder. The reservoir is mounted above it and the fluid is gravity fed to the brake lines. The slave cylinder is mounted on the clutch housing.
The system is serviced as an assembly. Individual components cannot be overhauled or replaced separately.
