I have a 2005 jeep grand cherokee limited 5.7L Hemi. It will not engage drive but it shifts into it. When I put it into neutral it's like it's in reverse and when I put it in reverse it goes in reverse....

I would throw it on a scanner. Find out what's wrong. But with no scanner, the first thing I would do is check or replace the transmission range sensor/neutral safety switch. But, you most likely have a transmission swap or rebuild. Everything is electronics now days. You could have a bad solenoid, bad or shorted wire/s or a bad transmission.

Do you think I needs to adjust my bands in my transmission. Reason asking is because my car won't shift into overdrive but shift all three gears fine. It also doesn't have reverse....when I put it in...

Year, make, and model? Either way, by what your saying the transmission has to come out. Tore apart and inspected. Cold be the clutches or just a snap ring is busted. It is a rebuild....

02 ford ranger transmission slips on small incline when put in park.

Check your transmission fluid level. Add if it is low. Your Ranger may at some point need a transmission rebuild. This involves pulling the transmission from beneath the truck and replacing the individual gears. Rebuilds are needed when the gear teeth (the grooved serrated edge of a gear) begin to wear. When this happens the gears cannot engage completely and the transmission will begin to slip.

Transmission not engaging 3rd or 4th gear

The symptoms & mileage is enough to tell
you it is time for a rebuild
Being a former police vehicle ,I would have
rebuilt the trans as soon as I got it,working okey
or not.
Forget advice that is typical unless you understand
the context the word was using in.

2003 Lincoln ls v-8 cruise control won't engage. Light won't come on or anything when I hit the button. Everything else work fine.

My 2001 Lincoln ls cruise control will not work. Put in a new clockspring and that did not fix it. radio controls and horn work but the air bag light stays on continually after starting. The lights on the cruise side will go on an off -I have bought that part to replace but don't want to put on if that is not the problem.

My car is a 1999 vw golf automatic,it does not change gears when put in drive.it starts in a high gear and if i try to change manualy only gear one accepts then when i put to gear two it will streight go...

transmission needs rebuilding or replacing. that happens, every part on every car ever made will fail from age or use; like everything else ever made. as it is a volkswagen call transmission shops, these are found in the yellow pages, and ask them if they work on them before you start driving around. you may find that very few shops will touch them. call a VW dealer and ask them if they have any rebuild and replacement service.

97 T+C Speed sensor Throttle Position Sensor or Replace Tranny

these are trans codes for spd sensor and gear ratio sensors. has this trans been replaces at any time?
For some reason there are a number of different transmissions that have gone into these vans and have different gear ratios. alot of trans shops put the wrong on in that does fit but improper gear ratios. or just hopfully the sensor did go bad. they usually recommend rebuild due to being half in the trans any ways.

umm i dont know what your asking except if this may need a rebuild? I would say ask whats all included in a rebuild. all trans shops seem to differ in what they call a rebuild but all seem, to have about that same price. these chrysler transmission also seem to have alot of random pressure solenoid and solenoid pack and valve body problems.
if you want shoot back a response in what they all do and ill give you my opinion on if its a fair price for what is begine replaced. get written on paper what is replaced. not verbal.
Good luck
