Question about Dodge Stratus

1 Answer

My driver's side window works fine when its hot outside. At night or early in the morning when its cool, the window is stuck up. When the window does roll down, as it cools into the night, the window struggles to roll up. I'd have to roll it up and down a couple times before it moves with normal speed.

Replace motor, and lubricate all slides and regulator when you have it apart. Use white lithium grease.

My window on my 03 Grand Cherokee driver side rear is stuck down and will not go up all the other windows work fine from driver side controlexcept the rear window on the driver side now it is stuck down...

You will have to remove the door panel

Most likely you have a broken window regulator
& are not going to get it up

If it is a switch problem, only, then you unplug the
motor & put battery voltage direct from the battery,
to get it up, until you have time to work on the problem

A/c stops blowing cold when temp is hot outside

may be there have some reasons caused the problem, such as the belt is loosse, the bearings are out on your tensioner, the compressor is bad or the refrigerant is low.

As a first step, use a child's toothbrush to scrub the channels clean. This has worked on other cars with window binding problems.

When its hot outside all the speakers in my 2002 nissan pathfinder work great, but when it cools the slightest bit the front passenger speaker and rear drivers speaker stop working. can you help me with...

Hi I am Vortash it sounds like when they expand in the heat the activator coils are clear of the magnets giving a good sound .. but when cold they contract touching the magnets and you get poor vibrating sound ,, ? the problem may be two fold .. spaekers not man enough to take ower from unit .. especially if you have replaced the unit as most cars are only fitted with 10watt 8ohm to 4 ohm speakers as standard , and some of the newer cd players start at 25 watts this will disstort the speakers and they need replacing .. if this is not the case and you only have a low powered system usual culprit is water seeping down windows onto speakers at night from damp or early morning dew .. wet speakers tend to disstort.. hope this helps regards vortash

Driver side vent is blowing out hot air, passenger side is blows out cool air

Damper/flap for driver's side is probably stuck. Try moving the selector from cold to hot several times. Also, move the recirc/outside air control if the previous doesn't work.

Ac compressor does not turn on when car has been sitting & it's hot outside. Works fine in the morning.

either the freon charge is about 1/3 low, or the expansion valve needs to be replaced. Freon is getting into the evaporator, but not in great enough volume to cool the air unless it is coming in cool to start with. check your ac charge, and if it is full, then have it emptied, change out the expansion valve, and recharge it

Very little heat from heater

the selector flap is not moving all the way to cold or hot position. Under the dashboard on the passenger side is a heat/ac box where all the duct work for the vents originates from. inside that box is the radiator for the heater and the cooling coil for the ac. the selector flap between them is stuck or not moving all the way.

Intermittent A/C Problem

You have several possiblities:

Your condensor fan is not coming on. This is an easy check. Turn off the A/C. Have someone turn on the engine, then have them engage the A/C, while you watch/listen for the condensor fan to engage. If it does not come on, then you need to replace it (this is somewhat common). I would check this first.

You have a faulty A/C pressure sensor or A/C pressure sensor circuit.

You have a faulty air conditioning clutch coil (not energizing or engaging air conditioning clutch).

These could be aggrevated by warmer temps. Many circuits will function properly when cool, but not when hot.

A lesser possibility would be to check the tension of your drive belt (it turns the A/C). When warm it could be slipping.

2000 GMC Jimmy SLE driver's power window

I had the same was the window gear that got stuck when the window was all the way up. (that's the clicking) I took my panel off and banged on the inside of the door with a rubber mallet. The window works again. Since then I make sure when I role the window all the way up to stop that I just barely tap the down button to release the pressure on the gear inside. When your using the hammer...hold the switch in the down mode...ignition on of course.
