Acts like it runs out of gas while driving on high temperature days. RPM's race to 4+ then bottom out car will recover or die (and repeat).

Try the gasket at the bottom of the throttle body, it can be checked by spraying WD-40 abound the bottom flange. If Idle changes while spraying, the gasket is bad.

Gas throttle is sticking rpm is high

Could be the throttle blade is sticking (clean with spray cleaner) or cable itself may be sticking. Unhook cable from throttle to see which.

Replacing intake manifold gasket. car is racing and cutting out while pressing gas. need to know what problem is

You have a vacuum leak. To find a vacuum leak check hoses and if you can't find the problem get some carburetor cleaner and slowly apply it to the throttle body and intake manifold. When the engine sounds different or when the rpm lowers you have found the leak.

1991 Chevy Caprice has a mild miss fire and stall at low rpm: This is my latest update: I checked and cleaned the EGR,PCV,IAC valve, M.A.P sensor and Throttle body(bore/butterfly). with carb cleaner....

Do you have the idle speed turned up to keep it from dying? Because it is high. Check engine light on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks at the gasket under the throttle body? How does the car run under acceleration? You might have a worn distributor shaft.

Very high idle using up to much gas can smell gas

it could be your throttle position sensor. it will be on the intake where your throttle body is located.

Tell him there is a sensor plugged inline with the air intake system (airfilter) unplug it and start the car he will get a check engine lt but if the car idles that sensor is the problem.
