I need instructions and specs on changing a starter on a 94 seville

The starter on the Northstar engine is nestled in intake valley underneath the intake manifold. You must first disconnect the negative battery terminal and then relieve the fuel pressure. After you will have to remove the intake assembly to get at the starter which then after that its pretty basic to remove the starter.
Just be sure to torque the bolts on the intake back to spec when reassembling (torque specs are written on the intake manifold in bold yellow lettering from what I can recall).
With these complicated cars you are better off joining a site like and reading their how-to forums and asking other Cadillac owners for advice. It`s very easy when you know what you`re confident and have some simple mechanical ``know-how

check all the large cables, at battery , engine block and starter for corrosion or loose bolts, you can also do the tap the starter with the hammer test, thats what you do if you have a full battery and solenoid clicking, means starter is on its way out

This ones a little difficult to anticipate. Its possible the starter has an armature problem and about to fail, however, you might want to remove the battery cables, make sure they are clean and tight.
Possibly a loose connection at the starter. If all that checks good, you should take it to your favorite repair shop and have a starter current draw test performed. If they determine it is one or the other, you can take it home, change the component and save some money.
Check the basics first, cables and such.
Let me know.
