Question about 1991 Nissan 300ZX
Hi to get the codes to flash up, or bling as you say, you need to locate the DLC= data link connector under the dashboard, get a small piece of wire about 3 inches long strip the ends so they can fit into the contacts, as you look at the DLC the top line last 2 contacts on the right hand side of the block are chk and ign put the wire into these 2 contacts, for about 2 seconds, remove wire and watch the malfunction indicator lamp, this will bling the codes, shot flash's and long flashes, long flashes are for the first digit, short flashes are for second digit...for example, 13 would be 1 long, 3 short, this will give you the error code you need, you wont find the error codes in the manual as these are for the professional mechanics not for the home mechanic, it will blow out smoke if the shaft seals are blown on the turbo, you need to disconnect the turbo and see if the impellers wobble inside, if so you need to either replace turbo with new one or get a refurbished one...hope this helps
