I need to replace the ignition switch on a 1999 ford taurus without the key

very simple, insert key in the ignition. Then insert a small phillips head screw driver in the middle hole underneath the steering column. You should feel the screwdriver head hit a hole.Maintain pressure on the screwdriver. Turn the key to the on postion(without starting the vehicle). You should be able to pull the igntion switch out with the key.

My 2003 saturn ion has that starting problem so i replaced the igntion switch and it still works so i got the mechanics to relearn the security codes and it STILL happens what part do i have to replac

The security, antitheft, or passlock light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle.
This link may help you find ways to bypass this or fix it yourself.

Ignition key wont turn so i can start my car

Hello there try giving your steering wheel a good **** and try the ignition at same time. I know the steering wheel is in the locked position but there is a little bit of play there that sometimes will release the locked up ignition.

Key goes into key slot with slight difficulty, will not turn. red blinking light in shape of car with key in picture. LIGHTS, windows, and door locks still work. Key will not budge. Help!!!

Many vehicles have some sort of safety interlock that prevents the car from being started or operated or put in gear - under certain conditions that could be dangerous. Ex. Steering wheel interlock, gear selector interlock, parking brake, regular brakes. Some vehicles even have a little finger lever near the igntion key which must be pressed before the key will release or can be turned. Look for these. Try to step on the brakes. If manual transmission, try to set the parking brake and take the car out of gear / put the shift lever in neutral. If automatic, make sure the car shift lever is in P for PARK. It must be something like that.

consult with your car's user manual - usually found in the glove box. It should tell you about these things.

My key won't turn in the ignition. I tried turning the steering wheel to unlock it but no good. What could be wrong?

Your igntion switch could be broken. If you have a security system, that may need reset and then, you can possibly start your vehicle. Check in your owners manual for reset information.

1998 cheverlet pickup, security light came on and dont know how to reset it???

can't be reset. the security system consist of the igntion key, igntion key cylinder, wire harness and module.
the most likey cause of this is the tiny wire harness from the igntion cylinder to the module is broken where it goes into the cylinder.
you can try using another igntion key, if still persist you'll need to get this fixed, sooner or later this will not allow you to start the engine.

2003 chevy impala security light comes on and car won't turn over. not sure why it ends up starting but it does.

Your vehicle was build with a GM anti theft device. There is a chip built into the igntion key, when you insert the igntion key the sensor inside the igntion cylinder will read the chip from the key. If for some reason that communication is broken the computer will think someone is trying to steal your car by using the incorrect key.
The first thing I would do is use another key, if you only have one, go to your local GM parts department & have them make you a proper key. You'll need to show proff you own the car, so be prepared to show your drivers license & registration.
If this doesn't resolve your problem then the problem lies with the computer that controls this system. I would recommend to have a repair shop look at it only if they understand GM anti thieft system. you may need to take it to your local Chevy dealership service department.

Soon as I connected the battery the engine started turning over without the keyswitch on

THESE GM VEHICLES ONLY NEED TO SEE A RISE IN IGNTION VOLTAGE IF THE KEY IS ON ANF THE CAR WILL CRANK. ALWAYS CONNECT THE BATTERY WITH THE KEY OUT OF IGNITION.
