I know you have to at least believe,that there is some possibility of it being, part of the exhaust system

Please crawl under the vehicle and find it. (Silly)

My VW Golf 05 SDI 2.0l won't rev over 3800 revs and so failed the NCT, wondering if anyone can provide a solution to the problem as the resit is approaching! Thanks


PLUGGED OR SATURATED WET CATILATIC CONVERTOR, OR A PLUGGED EXHAUST PIPE. HOWEVER, THE CAT CAN BE GENTLY TAPPED EVENLY ON THE OUTER SURFACE WITH ANY HAMMER OR MALLET, TAPPING TO REDUCE AND BREAK APART THE SULFAR TAR BUILD UP CRUST CASING THE MOTOR TO SUFFICATE. THE CAT COULD ALSO OF GOTTEN WET WITH HEAVY RAIN PUDDLES AND SATURATED, IT HAS A HONEY COMB LIKE INSIDE AND THE SMALL BREATHER HOLES IN THE INSIDE OF THE CAT ARE SO SMALL A LAYER OF WATER LEVELING THE BOTTOM OF CAT, OR SATURATED HONEY COMS WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO ACT LIKE ITS FARTING, DYING FOR AIR, AND PLUGGED REDUCING THE POWER THE PEDAL IS REQUESTING THE MOTOR SPURT OUT, HOWEVER A PLUG OR WETNESS HAS GOT A MUFFLED AND SADLY ENOUGH PLUGGED SMALL PART(S0 THAT INTERFERES WITH THE AIR INTAKE/EXHALE OF YOUR BREATHABILITY OF YOUR CARS MOTOR COMBUSTIONS. GOOD LUCK, AGAIN, WET CAT, LIGHTLY TAP, SOMETIMES REMOVE BRACKET, DROP, EMPTY OUT AFTER TAPPING TRYING NOT TO DAMAE HONEYCOMB AS THIS WILL CHANGE EMISSION PASSING, BUT A NEW CAT SHOULD BE AVAIIABLE THAT IS CONSIDERED A UNIVERSAL FOR AROUND $40, AND THE UNSTALL IS SIMPLE IF YOU SLIP BY MIDAS OR SIMILAR.

I experienced the same. Rather than replace costly cats I tried to change gas to highest octane - and voila! - all lamps get off.

1999 Alero stalling and trac off light coming on


does the rpm motor kick down? you may need to check your vacuum hoses, and also you may want to check your exaust, sounds wierd but that can cause the car to stall at times.as for the traction light, your hitting the brakes to hard. try slowing down a little slower while stopping, and keep distance for saftey.. if you can take it a little slower at lights and turns, without braking hard and it stops stalling.

when its flashing that means that there is an emision problem bad enough to damage the catilatic converters
