There is no fill valve. on the side of the trans there is a plug[bolt] and there is a drain plug[bolt] on the bottom take side bolt out if you can touch oil with your pinkie finger it is full if there is no sign of leakage then it is fine

The valve body is a part roughly the size of a 8 X 11 piece of paper, only about 4 inches thick.
It is made of aluminum, and is really filled with lots of holes and passageways.
It is up inside your transmission oil pan.
As you drive, transmission oil is supposed to circulate inside this, and change your gears as you drive down the road.
These do fail occasionally, and are expensive to replace, often costing 1,000 to 3,000 to change, as most shops will overhaul your whole transmission in the process.

Trying to locate the fluid fill plug on a 1999 Kia Sephia with manual transmission. Is there a picture or diagram I can look at?


there are two places under on the top of the transmission there is a small sover that you have to pull off with pliers just put a little in there its just to start lubrication then under the transmission there are two bolts the higher one is the fill and the lower one is the drain make sure that you drain what is left before filling with new. i reccomend penzoil manual transmission fluid.

My 2004 chevy optra (auto) is having problems when downshifting. Whenever I am coming to a stop it jumps/downshifts really hard before making the stop. What could be the problem?


FIRST CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL MAKE SURE ITS CORRECT.IF FLUID LEVEL OKAY SOUND LIKE STICKING SHIFT VALVES.CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID + FILTER.GET SOME TRANSMEDIC ADD 1/2 TO NEW TRANSMISSION FLUID THIS HELP FREE STUCK SHIFT VALVES IN VALVE BODY DONT OVER FILL ADD IT IN.BUT DONT OVER FILL TRANSMISSION.IF THIS DONT HELP.YOU COULD HAVE VALVE BODY PROBLEM.

Where do i put oil in my 1978 Chevy C10 pickup


If there's no oil cap directly on one of the valve covers (it may have a breather hose attached which connects to the breather element in the breather pan), then some models require adding oil through the dipstick. If this is the case, there should be a cap type dipstick instead of the standard "hook". There are 6 different motors (8 including variations) for your truck so no manual has the exact location of the oil cap. Best of luck and hope I answered your question.

Transmission slipping


the transmission doesn't have a dipstick, on the rh side(transmission side) the fill and drain plugs are located where the axle is inserted into the transmission usually the fill plug is opened with a 17mm wrench and the drain plug is opened with a 3/8 ratchet(fits perfectly into the square hole. and you fill it up until it runs out of the fill hole. you could consult your manual for the proper type. honda used to use motor oil 5w30, 10w30, but they have since replaced the use of those fluids with ther own manual trans fluid which is somewhere in the neighborhood of $5 us a quart(at least in my neighborhood) it holds like 2+1/2 qts us. the problem that you have sounds like a worn out clutch, which typically slips in the higher gears, also if your model has an egr valve that could cause the car to surge between 1400-2500 rpm which could feel like "slippage" usually the egr valves don't go bad but the control solonoids do.

Where is the manual transmission dip stick


there is no dip stick you have a fill plug and drain plug.the fill plug is the one higher up on the trans case. take out the fill plug and if it runs out the hole or you can touch the gear lube with tip of your finger in the fill hole its full. have a great day.
