I have a 2001 Chevy K2500HD and the transmission is not shifting from 1st to 2nd right away

The 1st thing that must be done here is to have the transmission control module scanned for fault codes (trans is fully computer shifted), it may be the 1-2 shift solenoid is the problem, it will set a code.

Trans shifting hard into all gears

Have you hooked vehicle up to scanner to scan for codes? Sounds like a sensor, most likely the speed sensor on the transmission.Easy fix that you can do yourself, after acquiring the part. Not all codes will trigger a CEL take it somewhere and have them scan vehicle for pending and non-critical codes.

Vehichel will not shift into high gear,...has error code po700

The code is for a general fault with the trans control module - there should be another code for the actual problem. You may have to have someone try to scan the body computer in addition to the engine computer, or the trans module may have failed.

Trans stuck in limp mode i'm getting a p1751 code

P 1751 Shift Solenoid" A" performance. The solenoid is part of the transmission valve body and yes if this solenoid fails you will get limp mode. The only solution is a new solenoid may be even the wires to it or even the transmission module

What are the factors that would prevent trans from shifting?

1. Low Fuid, check.
2. Loose wire connections on transmission.
3. Shift Solenoid inside the transmission.
4. Clutch plates inside transmission.
5. Bad valve body inside transmission.
6. Transmission computer

Would probably need to send to a shop to diagnose, as they have the proper scan tools. You should be able to check fluid, and connections.

Speed od. wont work and the park and drivedash lights all light up and wont shift

THERE ARE TROUBLE SPOTS IN WIRING IN A NUMBER SPOTS FOR TRANS ISSUES ON THESE VANS..
UNDER BATTERY TRAY..WIRES CHAFING ON TRAY
NEAR TRANS SOLENOID PACK..HARNESS CHAFE THRU
NEAR TRANS CONTROLLER UNDER LF FENDER
TRANS CONTROLLER HOUSING ITSELF..RUSTED OUT..
HARNESS IN FRONT OF TRANSMISSION..BROKEN WIRES
YOU NEED TO GET SCANNED AND SEE IF ANY FAULTS PRESENT OR EVEN IF YOU CAN COMMUNICATE WITH TRANS CONTROLLER..A CODE READER WILL NOT TRANSMISSION CODES..IT NEEDS TO BE SCANNED AND DIAGNOSTICS PERFORMED..SOUNDS LIKE A WIRING OR CONTROLLER ISSUE..I HOPE THIS HELPS

Has this symptom occured several times or just a one off? If the trans works OK I wouldn't mess with it.You know what they say about sleeping dogs! I think Mitsis are not that strong in the auto trans department
