Passenger side under hood at the fire wall is a dip stick that is where you fill it half a quart at a time

4l30e automatic transmission. That goes in reverse just fine but put it in drive and it will nearly move its like starting it 4th gear put in low and it will go any ideas any help is greatl

Your trans is speaking out loud. I not a trans pro but it seems to be the valve body in the trans not circulating the fluid properly. If the trans has been properly maintained by R/R the fluid & filter & adjustments, depending on the year make , model & mileage, it sounds like the trans itself. Again if the trans hasn't been maintained properly, at this point if you drop the fluid it probably will stop shifting altogether. Wish I could get my hands on it to give you a definite diag. Have a pro ck it out. Good luck

Mazda rx8 05. Skiping gears in auto mode no warning codes .put trans fluid was low

If the fluid was low, you have a leak &
more than likely have done some internal
damage to the trans

May have to be rebuilt

2006 dodge grand caravan transmission fluid low but cannot find a leak

check your rear main seal. Also try changing your trans fluid, trans filter, and your transmission pan seal. I recommend you put lucas transmission oil in it and a quart of the Lucas Stop Slip and leak sealer

2001 trooper losing transmission fluid not find any leaks

Is it a automatic or standard if it is an auto.I would check the modulator valve on the trans, pull the vaccum line off and check for trans fluid in the line.

Replaced transmission on a 2000 F150 need know about ajustments truck want move

is this a used transmission? it sounds like you are low on fluid. check this and if that is not the problem, either the pump is out, torque converter or clutch pack.
ps. dont continue reving the engine if the trans is low on fluid as it is the same as reving an engine low on oil, not good

Where do you put transmission fluid in 2005 dodge neon?

If the trans is an automatic the dipstick is usually marked quite clearly and can be found near the brake-fluid reservoir. If the trans is a manual then you need to get under the car to find it. But, either way, if the trans needs fluid then it is leaking, and if it is leaking you need to get the leak repaired. A trans that is low on fluid will fail, and usually people don't realize they are low on fluid until it is too late.

Trans. cover wet with Trans Fluid (52,000 Miles)

sounds like you need a new gasket for the pan, you can have a shop change the filter and put a new gasket for a reasonable price dont delay because if the trans is low on fluid it becomes burned and no longer lubricates and can ruin your trans

Transmission fluid 1988 vw scirocco

Put it down the dipstick tube that you check the trans fluid with using a funnel. Don't put much in at a time before you check the level - remember to check the level with engine running, trans warmed up after driving 15 minutes and the car in park with parking brake on. Put the fluid in and see what it does for your shifting.
