Question about GMC Sierra 2500HD

1 Answer

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD and I believe i popped a fuse for the brake controller. It does not light up at all. I was putting the controller back in and I made contact with the end with metal and saw a quick spark. The controller was not hooked up. It will not work. I checked all the fuses under the hood with no issues found. Does anyone have any suggestions? I hooked up another controller and it did not work either. So I am almost sure it is a fuse problem. Thanks for any help.

You are on the right track. Make sure you check every single fuse under the hood and inside the vehicle. Check every one, you are missing one use a test light, continuity tester, or power probe will make for a much faster search.

2006 GMC Sierra The trailer park lights won't come on

Suspect 7 pin connector problem , you should have power on the 8pm positioned and the centre pin position as you look into the socket (on vehicle. These pins are both male pins as you look at them . If ok check trailer wiring where it splits for either lamp assy ! Good luck

check at the top of the pedal, there is a micro switch that operates when you depress the pedal, this in turn operates the electric feed to the brake lights, this switch may be worn, or easy but a little awkward fix
