Pull as hard as you can to the right at the same time turn the key the pressure of the steering being all the way is binding up the key and steering lock

We tried it all we mover the key around and the stearingwheel and nothing do u think something locked in the car or where we put the key messed up from so much tugging =(

is the key worn because by turning it hard to the right and then turning the key should unlock it you should be able to move the steering wheel one way or the other about a half inch which ever way it moves hold it there and try turning the key this should work unless you have a worn key then that would make it more difficult to release no there is nothing tha would just lock up in the column

Ok thank you! I will have to make a brand new key and see if that's the issue!

there is a load on the lock pin in the steering column try turning the steering wheel a bit left or right to release the pin as you try turning the key.
Steering wheel locks never lock straight ahead as the idea is that if the car is being stolen it will turn a circle rather that move straight

Ignition stuck in lock position

Have you tried taking the pressure off the steering lock by turning the wheel a little? It should move slightly in one direction or the other.

I put the keys in ignition, but switch wont turn to start car: as if switch is locked

Sometimes the cause of this is the steering wheel is turned to the left or right when you shut the engine off and it holds pressure against the steering lock mechanism. Try turning the steering wheel hard to the left or right while trying to turn the key and see if that solves your problem.

The ignition key is stuck in my 2001 Toyota Corolla

The ignition on Toyota cars sometimes requires you to push the key down into the keyhole while turning it towards the 'LOCK' position.

If you have trouble moving it to this position, you can try turning the steering wheel at the same time, or jiggling the wheel left and right.

In case you are still unable to remove the key, you may have a defective ignition key cylinder, and this may need replacement.

Hope this helps.
