I have Just replaced my fuel pump, and then I put a ignition switch /lock cylinder in with a new battery and my car isn't saying anything, no lights, no radio Nothing .......please help me! 99 Honda accord lx 4cylinder automatic

Replacing the lock cylinder won't do solve your Passlock problem. It's the lock cylinder CASE that's the problem most often. First, do you have the right transponder key? If so, then get the trouble codes read to find out whether the problem is the tranceiver or the lock cylinder case. Then replace the broken parts and get it reprogrammed. This isn't rocket science. But you do have to know how the system works.

You need to check the fuel pump cutoff switch (located in kick panel), see if the wires to the switch are burned and melted, if they are buy a repair connector from Ford and replace the switch. Also the ignition starter switches in this truck have a habit of coming apart and causing a loss of power to the fuel pump or the ignition system. The switch is operated by a long rod from the ignition lock cylinder and it mounted to the steering column tube down near the bottom of column

First check your fuel pressure it should be 41-47 psi with key on and engine off if its below 32 psi replace the fuel pump and filter.If fuel pump checks out to be good then take ignition switch out and check for burned ignition switch wires and worn ignition key tumblers and ignition lock cylinder.These cars are known for faulty ignition switches and ignition lock cylinders.Ignition switch gets to hot then it won't start until it cools off.

the actuator inside the sterring column that the lock cylinder turns is boken, this is a very complex job and is not for the home tech without a factory service manual.

I have a 1990 cadillac deville, it was running great and one day just would not start! Any Ideas why? Neutral safety switch has been checked and replaced also computer, new battery, and the ignition...


If you're saying it turnes over but doesn't start I think of two things. If it is not getting power to the spark plugs I think it is the ignition module inside the distributor(small black box on bottom inside). If it is getting power to the spark plugs I would check the fuel pressure. If no or little fuel then fuel filter and or the fuel pump.

Removal
  1. NOTE: The following procedure applies to vehicles that have functional ignition switch lock cylinders (11582), lock cylinder keys are available for these vehicles or the lock cylinder key numbers are known and the proper key can be made.

    Disconnect battery ground cable (14301). Refer to Section 14-01 .
  1. Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to RUN position.
  1. Place a 3.17 mm (1/8-inch) diameter wire pin or small drift punch in hole in lower steering column shroud (3530) under ignition switch (11572). Press retaining pin while pulling out on ignition switch lock cylinder to remove it from steering column lock cylinder housing (3511).
Installation
  1. Install ignition switch lock cylinder by turning it to RUN position. Insert ignition switch lock cylinder into steering column lock cylinder housing. Make sure ignition switch lock cylinder is fully seated and aligned in interlocking washer before turning ignition switch lock cylinder to OFF position. This will permit cylinder retaining pin to extend into steering column tube flange hole.
  1. Rotate ignition switch lock cylinder, using lock cylinder key, to ensure correct mechanical operation in all positions.
  1. Connect battery ground cable.

Truck won't do anything!


I would say it is entirely possible that the lock cylinder is not turning far enough to engage the solenoid circuit. Common problem. My 92 C1500 and 94 K1500 have both done the same thing. Replacement is a breeze if you have the tools (steering wheel puller, lock plate remover and torx bits for removing the lock cylinder retaining bolt) 1. Remove steering wheel. 2. Remove lock plate (held on with spring clip).3.Remove screw that holds turn signal linkage and remove linkage 4. Remove screw in 4 way flasher knob and remove. 5. Remove 3 screws that hold down turn signal switch and gently pull switch out of housing about 2 inches. 6. Remove little white plastic switch that is in the way of the torx head bolt that holds the lock cylinder in. 7 Remove torx bolt and pull lock cyinder out of column. Reverse operation to reassemble. Good luck. Part is less that $20 at any parts store.
