Question about 2001 Pontiac Aztek
Best thing to check is the socket for the fan relay. Find the cooling fan relay in the engine compartment relay box and pull out the relay to interrogate the socket. Use a test light to see if the car is trying to turn on the fan. See my post at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check on how to check the relay and socket. The car must be running and hot for this test. If the car is not hot, you can at least test the fan by jumping the relay. Please let me know if you have questions.
