Question about 2001 Pontiac Aztek

1 Answer

My pontiac azteck 2006 is over heating. I know that when i drive the fan is not kicking on, but the ac fan is on. The thing is that i do not know where the thermostate is located to replace it nor the senso for the fan. I definatly know that it is not leaking and sure does not need water. These are the things i checked.

Best thing to check is the socket for the fan relay. Find the cooling fan relay in the engine compartment relay box and pull out the relay to interrogate the socket. Use a test light to see if the car is trying to turn on the fan. See my post at on how to check the relay and socket. The car must be running and hot for this test. If the car is not hot, you can at least test the fan by jumping the relay. Please let me know if you have questions.

How to replace heater core in 2006 Pontiac G6? I am at the last steps. Cant seem to get the heater core out?Am I taking the ac out with the heater core?

The heater core is part of the car's engine cooling system and is not part of the AC. They share only the fan used to move the cool or heated air provided by the AC or heater.

What controls the radiator cooling fans in the ac mode on a pontiac torrent 2006

Well the computer activates the relay for the fans when needed.
You should be able to jumper the relay to check the fan operation.
The fans come on when the ac pressure reaches 200psi or so, not as soon as you turn the ac on.

2002 buick rendezvous awd cooling fans wont turn on and car will start to over heat but if you put on the ac they will come on

First check fuse if thats good then check the thermal fan switch. If the fan switch is corroded its not letting The pcm know the temp.

Fan not working, car is always overheats. How do I make the fan work?

After a jumper test on the fans to make sure that they work, you might take a look at your coolant level or temperature sensor. The try testing or replacing any fuses or relays wired into your air conditioning and heating circuit. In my 1998 Buick Regal, the fans never run until the air conditioner or heating fan is turned on. Unfortunately, the A.C. compressor and the cooling fans also kick in when I turn on the heater fan switch. Your best option is to wire the fans to a manual switch on your dash or just drive really fast all the time.

2004 starus coupe fans?

If the motor does not sense it is getting too hot, the fans will not come on. When it reaches a certain temp, they will come on. If you are having problems with over heating, and the fans are not coming on, I would suspect the fan temp sensor, or the PCM.
