How To remove 2001ford tarus se tranmission

Too many steps to go through on a site like this so get a workshop manual and a couple of mechanically minded mates and always use axle stands if you are underneath. Have drain trays and rags ready for spillages. Be aware the trans will drain when drive shafts are pulled.

Is the transmission fluid high on the dipstick? Will it go into any gear?If the fluid is high and it will not engage into any gear except park the you have a stripped pump drive spline in the torque converter. If the car has 80,000 miles or less the you may only need to replace the torque converter and front seal.I would recommend replacing filter and fluid also.Good luck!

Puddle of oil under neath 2003 fords focus. Does not appear to be engine oil or tranmission fluid. On driver side. Gear box oil??? !30,000 on engine.

Power steering fluid? Rack leaking? try ATP AT - 205 re-seal additive. Good for engine ,PS and transmission.

Notice on driveway tranmission fluid leaking check t f top off also first gear hard shift took to DOBBS HAD CHECK OUT WAS TOLD tranmission seal on back side was leaking bad also oil pan gasket leaking...

u get a second look your self by looking at the transmission u dont have to take anything apart to find the leak the oil pan is easy so check that one first if u see any fluid on or around the pan then the seal is shot that dont mean the tranny will burn up, just keep an eye on the fluid level second the rear transmission seal is located at the back of the tranny where the rear drive shaft slips into the transmission if you notice fluid around there and on the drive shaft thats leaking also but like i said just because u have a few minor leaks dont mean the tranny will blow up just as long as you keep an eye on the fluid level. do your home work and find a good transmission shop that will gaureentee the there work at a decent price.

Tranny fluid is pouring out the torqeconverter area even after i changed the shaft seal

You you either pinched the seal...or it is torn. If you are confident this absolutely isn't the case, then you have an internal Transmission failure causing fluid to be pushed out of the seal. That just happens to be a high pressure area with a fairly weak seal. Very common on Fords

Transmission is slipping

once the tranmission starts slipping that is the end of the useable life for the tranmission, u will need an overhaul, sorry there is no repair other than that for slipping conditions.

My 2006 ford freestar won't go in reverse and kicks when in drive and there was a funny smell, all the fluids are good, could it be the tranny?

it is the tranny. once reverse goes out there are seals in your tranny that are shot so even though u have full fluid the tranny cant push the fluid in the right places. it needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
