There are clips holding it in you just have to use a razor blade and a wooden peg to carefully go round it. Patience is the key to these things. Not to much pressure either.

You need to remove the dash face plate and then use special removal tools to get the unit out. Make sure the unit is not password protected. If you remove the unit, you'll need the password to activate it again after reinstallation.

Were is the a.c. blower motor located?

The blower motor is placed within the blower fan unit . You will need to remove the dash board front and also remove the blower motor assmebly with the filter and vent settings to remove the blower for servicing and cleaning.
Removal of the dash and the motor unit can be easily done if you follow the pattern to remove the screws that fixes the motor body to the rotary fan unit.

How to install a radio in a 1999 GTI

If it's a OEM unit you'll need a radio key tool similar to this
3b0dfb6.jpg
so you can pull the old unit out and replace it with another OEM unit.
Before removing any power connection (batt, couplings and connectors) from your vehicle, you must have your radio code in case you need to unlock it from safe mode.

Replacing it with an aftermarket unit calls for a different procedure. This will involve in removing most of the panels from the dashboard. You will need a torx bit to remove the screws from the dash. It will also involve in removing the shifter console cover out of the way so the radio carrier would be accessible from below.
Remove the 2 side covers fro m the dash (fuse cover), a couple of screws for the drivers kick panel will be visible.
Remove the headlight switch assembly by pushing the rotary switch in and turned to the left, This will release the lock and you can pull the assembly out to un-hook the connection from behind.
Remove the driver side kick panel, the glove box with the light connection behind it and the two side panels from the radio carrier.
You can access the screws holding the carrier from the dash and you can mount your new unit into the carrier using the new hardware from you new head unit. You can buy the adapter from Fry's Electronics specific for your radio to connect your unit with the original radio harness,

1992 vw golf: the lights in my dash are all out. how do i change the bulbs?

You'll need to remove the steering wheel. Remove the dash trim. There are 3 screws that hold the unit to the dash. From under the dash, you'll need to disconnect the speedometer cable. Tilt it foward and remove it the unit, there will be a plug at the right bottom of the unit that you'll need to unplug. Take the unit out and on the back, on the top will be 2 bulb holders that you twist to remove, there is 1 other one on the back, in the middle of the unit.

How do I remove the radio on a 1987 Honda Accord LXi

Radio & Tape Player
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. If so equipped, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
  2. Remove the floor console and the front console panel. On 1984-85 cars, if access to the back of the radio may be gained through other means, such as removing the "pocket" from the console, the console need not be removed.

Radio mounting on 1986-89 Accords

  1. Remove the ashtray and ashtray holder.
  1. On 1986-89 cars:
  2. Remove the coin box, air vents and ashtray lighting bracket.
  3. Remove the dashboard switches on the left and right of the steering wheel.
  4. Lower the steering wheel to its lowest position. Remove the dash visor. This is a large, one-piece assembly which includes the center dash trim. It's plastic; don't break it.
  5. Remove the two screws holding the radio at the rear of the unit.
  6. Carefully push the unit out the front of the dash. When access is gained, disconnect the multi-pin connector and the antenna cable from the unit. Remove the unit.
  7. Reinstall in the reverse order. Take great care not to damage the dash trim and instrument visor. Make certain the connectors are firmly and squarely installed. If applicable, be sure to enable the SRS.

Dash electris out. not a fuse. how to remove

im trying to figure out exactly what you have but at any rate the speedometer unit comes out by simply using 2 dental style picks squeezed just to the side of the unit and pulling. i dont think you really want to try removing a dash here. once it is foward you will need to reach behind and disconnect the elctrical connectors. you will probably find a loose connector is your issue.

Radio

It's actually very simple. The dash panel around the radio head unit, which includes the key switch bezel, just pulls off. Pull carefully around the key-switch bezel and the ring around the key switch should pop out along with the dash panel. You'll probably need to shift out of park to get the shift lever out of the way, and you'll need to unplug a few plugs from the back of the dash panel. After the panel is removed, the head unit should just unscrew from the sub-dash mounting.
