May I suggest that you take someone with you into a Parking Lot; and one of you walk along with your
truck, while the other drives and makes the turns.

By doing this you will be able to make a clearer and better description of this noise.

I noticed in the picture that you pull a trailer. Was the trailer hooked up at the time of this noise???

Best Regards,

Have your CV boots and half shafts checked. If these are cracked, they will dry out and cause a lot of noise when turning. Also check your swaybar links, these cause a lot of noise also, but not only while turning.

Take the car out on a quiet parking lot(no traffic) get it up to speed and when the noise is occuring turn the car to the right and to the left...did the noise go away???
I think on one of those turns it did...if it went away on the left turn the left front wheel bearing/hub assembly is bad and needs replacement, if it went away on the right turn the right side hub/bearing needs replacement. Hope that helps!!

98 Cherokee 4.0 VERY loud grinding

Sounds like the alternator bearings have gone away, but, you need to physically check the source of the noise. (I can't do that from here).
It also seems that you may have more than one problem going on there, possibly a bad ignition switch and also a blown fuse or bad body control module. As far as why the noise seems to be only when the engine is "freewheeling" may have a lot to do with rpm change and loading when in gear. I would go after the obvious alternator problem first, then sort out the remainder later.

Could be either a loose belt or you are low on power steering fluid,or the power steering pump could just be worn out.

So, what is? Have them say that 3 times in writing. I know California has a lemon law. 3,000 miles? Take it back under warranty and tell them you'll have your attorney pick it up when they determine what cause dthe failure.

check the level of fluid. fill it up to the proper level... turn the steering wheel all the way to the right stop and hold it there.. you should hear a noise... that's bleeding the air out of the system... now turn it all the way to the left and do the same... check the level and top up if necessary. if this doesn't fix it the rack and pinion my be in need of replacement or the steering pump.
