Glowing red exhaust pipe coming off of manifold in 2000 Lexus ES 300

That is caused by an over fueling condition, you need some testing done.

Installed new TD04 turbo and vehicle ran perfect for a week or so. Last night drove 10 mins it is revving to fast and when i looked at exhaust manifold it was glowing red.

I would check your MAP or MAF sensor to be sure. Sounds like you are running lean which is causing your exhaust gas temperature (EGT) to be very high. Running lean with a turbocharged car will destroy your engine very quickly. Drive the car gently until you figure this out.

Also, it is common for the exhaust manifold and downpipe to glow orange if the car has been driven in a spirited manner. Although, normal (not lead foot) driving shouldn't cause your EGTs to be this high.

Why the exhaust manifold turn on red?

Ok I beleive your asking why your exhaust manifold is turning red. If this is the case you probably have a blockage in your manifold, or the cat is clogged. somewhere the is an obstruction not allowing the exhaust gasses to escape properly and the temperature just keeps raising. You need to fix this right away! If I were you I would take the exhaust apart and clean it, or just replace it, then take off the manifolds and clean them out, if you do not find the obstruction then the cat is clogged and needs replaced!

My car is a 89 toyota corolla the engine is a 2E my problem is at hi speed the exhaust turns red which you dan lite up acigarette .what do you think could cause this type of a problem

It is quite normal for the exhaust manifold to get very hot, especially when the engine is working hard running at high speed under load. Every time the mixture in the cylinder is ignited there is a small explosion producing a big flame and a lot of heat to push the piston down A lot of this heat goes out the exhaust. During daylight it is usually not noticeable, but at night it will visibly glow up to a bright red.

That is usually caused by a plugged exhaust system. Either the converter / pre-converter or muffler is plugged. Also check to make sure EGR valve is working properly

1986 Pontiac Fiero V6 2.8L rebuilt..I started it up, within 45 seconds the exhaust manifolds turn bright red and start burning up. I triple checked the timing, it is idling a bit higher than normal still....

That is usually from a clogged catalytic convertor and/or the pre-cat or collector that sits in between the manifold and the cat. If you left the pre-cat on, remove it and see what the result is.

If you dont have the proper spark due to a bad coil pack you will not get all the gas burned properly and your manifold will glow red.I would start with the coil pack.!

86 fiero thermostat and exhaust problem

The thermostat is held in place by a rubber seal around it and the access cap. One of those is allowing the thermostat to move freely.

The bright red manifolds indicate that combustion is occurring in the exhaust manifold. This is usually a retarded ignition timing issue. Check your timing and see if that helps the hesitation at idle.

Good luck,
