Dashboard lights and passenger side parking lights (front and rear) do not light. I checked all fuses and bulbs: they were all OK.. Did not check relays or the other modules within the interior fuse box and the under hood fuse boxes...Please help!!!

But why would the passenger side parking lights also not work when the dashboard lights don't work? Is there a connection between the dashboard lights and the front

  • artistguy1 Oct 10, 2010

Why then would the passenger side parking lights not work when the dashboard lights fail to light?

  • artistguy1 Oct 10, 2010

So, if I take out the dash panel assembly, unplug the the harness connector and put my VOM leads into the connector while the switch is on, and I don't get a voltage reading, then I will need to check the other end where it connects to the fuse box to see if power is getting to the particular portion of the wiring harness? And if power is coming from the fuse box, then the wiring harness itself is bad??

Yes...I will follow the procedures and hopefuuly solve the problem...

If the fault would have been in the relays or fuses then all the lights would have been out. Your problem is in the wiring - the wire that powers them is disconnected.
You will gonna have to take out the instrument panel to access the dash harness and check the connectors on it.

Yes, they are powered by the same fuse and the same button.

Yes, this is EXACTLY the diagnostic procedure that you must use to identify the fault.

Where is the fuse for the rear tail light on a 2008 highlander

If you have only one bulb not working, or if you have only one side of the rear lights not working, it would not be a fuse.
Fuses generally control , for example, all the rear tail lights, or all the front parking lights, etc.
Those fuses are found in the fuse holder underneath the dashboard of the vehicle.
If you have only one bulb out, either the bulb is burned out, or a socket for the bulb is defective, or the ground wire is not working.
If you have one side out, you likely have a wiring problem.
God bless your efforts.

Passenger side driving lights not working on 2001 saab 9-3

Are you sure the bulbs are ok.Visually it's hard to tell. all the time if they are bad. Be sure and check them with a meter and if they check out ok then you need to check for voltage with the key in the on position and lights on.going to the rear light assembly itself. Usually if its just one side not working it's a bad bulb. But that's usually not always. Good luck.

Rear park lights keep blowing fuse

first mistake you make is to increase the fuse capacity to above that required. You have a short in the circuit and by putting such a large fuse in you run the very real risk of burning the wiring loom. Check the bulb sockets and check that the right bulbs are in the sockets. bulbs come in two styles. one has 2 contact points and is either for 2 filaments (stop and tail) or a earth wire (Plastic light units) and the other is a single contact that earths out through the metal base . If you have the wrong bulb in place the current will short directly across the contacts and the light will not come on and the fuse will blow. Fuses for tail lights will be 5 amp maximun

How to replace headlight switch

First check all the light bulb's. Then check all the fuse's related to the lights on the vehicle. If that doe's not solve the problem, Check the relay that may be associated with the exterior rear light's. If that does not solve the problem, You either have a bad light switch itself located under the light knob that you are turning the lights on and off with, which is located on the dashboard display panel in various different location's depending on the make, model and year of your motor vehicle. and if that does not solve your problem it is possibly a wiring shortage which is followed from the light switch through the dashboard, to the fuse box, then through the entire vehicle running from the front of the vehicle to the back of the vehicle on the floor of the vehicle on either side of the vehicle, or the wire's may be located in the interior roof trim located on the inside of the vehicle over the door area running from the front off the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle, or the wire's could also run from the front of the vehicle to the back of the vehicle through the center of the floor or center console area, But most light shortage's are located either at the light fixture itself, which is where the light bulb is located, or either at the fuse in the fuse box, or at the light switch located on the dashboard display area.

Left rear brake light stopped working but bulb and fuses are OK.

These are Dual Function Bulbs. They control the Parking Lights and the Brake Lights. This Bulb is Burnt out on the Brake Coil inside the Bulb. I have actually seen Bulbs that were Bad But you could not Tell by jast looking at them. It should be fine with a New Bulb. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

have you checked the bulbs? if the bulbs are ok, then it could be the wiring connection from the passenger to the driver's side.
