You need to buy a good service (shop) manual for this car, it will explain it step by step. It is not terribly hard, but is too complicated to explain here. Have you ever replaced the brakes on any vehicle before? There are a few special tools that you will need, but they are not expensive. What is your level of experience with auto repairs? Do you know proper safety procedures for jacking and supporting a vehicle with the wheels removed? This is not a job for a novice, but if you have someone who is experienced, they can walk you through it.

It can be faulty brake light switch causing the problem or its blown brake light bulb.First check and confirm brake light lamp is working and that's not the case.

I have a 1997 chrysler concorde and when I apply my brakes they make a funny noise like a leaking air pump. Any ideas? but the brakes are working OK

my idea is that your power steering booster unit is leaking and needs replaced. that is the large double bowl shaped thing which sits between the master cylinder and firewall. not easy to replace.

Your cables are probably siezed--try spraying the cable where they go into the housing with penetrating oil like WD40 sometimes this works.

It sounds like your brake light switch is out.  It's located on the brake pedal and is relatively easy and cheap to replace.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Brakes will drag on passenger front and I am losing brake fluid slowly

sounds like your piston for your caliper is shot. leaking around seal onto brake pad and or ground. remove passenger tire look behind disc that is the one that will be glazed. look for wet around metal should be dry if looks like it was recently sprayed with some kinda oil its leaking. you need to replace caliper.
